According to Mark Gonzales of the Trib, Quintana would be on the trading block if not for the Darvish/Chatwood fiasco.

Great job by Hahn fleecing Theo.

I guess the best thing you can hope for is that Darvish comes back and pitches at decently. Then you might get another GM to buy into Quintana being a lot better than he is and trade him mid season.

why would you look to trade an inexpensive, injury free pitcher who throws 200 innings of good production every year and is a great representative of the team?

Anytime I think of the Quintana trade, I can't help but to think of Justin Verlander. That guy wanted to be a Cub so bad but it never happened. What could have been...

This is all true but let’s face it , pitching isnt the big issue ( other than the starters being bad for months in the beginning / middle of the season and over taxing the bullpen) why the Cubs are watching right now

I wouldn't worry about it. Yeah, you guys got a crappy pitcher but the Sox have shown zero ability to develop a prospect and keep them healthy. It's a wash.

Why would they get rid of Q? Sounds like click bait to me.

The Cubs look solid next year with Lester, Hendricks, Hamels, Quintana, 5, 6. Nobody knows what will happen with Darvish. One more solid starter and a couple spot starters out of the bullpen will really solidify things. It'd nice if Darvish figures his shit out...or retires.

The Cubs are home or wherever picking their ass because they cannot fucking hit. Period.

If someone wants to call about Q, the Cub should field the call, but as pointed out by several above, the reason the Cubs lost this year, and last year has way more to do with a disappearing offense, than lack of run prevention.

If someone wants Q and it's a good offer, go for it.

I hope Darvish retires. If he comes back I expect him to suck. Maybe he can be a solid #5.

Not sure what to do about the hitting. Theo thought Murphy would be the answer but he also fell into the slump.

If you heard Jesse Rogers on Murph's show he asked brewers pitchers and other teams what was wrong w/ the cubs offense. it was all about the approach. the other teams said slider low and away was the pitch to throw all cub hitters and they'd chase. I dont think it's the talent but more working a count which this team has forgot how to do the last 2 seasons.

He's not worth a top 100 prospect even anymore. Cubs got played by a front office that has done literally nothing else right.

Why couldn't Cleveland win game 7.

Maybe, but Eloy still does not have a MLB at bat. He may turn into Moncada 2.0

Injuries are the risk factor with Eloy. Moncada has been striking out like crazy every since he came to the USA. Eloy doesn't swing and miss. Eloy hits the ball with major authority.

Bullshit.

I'd be far more likely to believe that the office was curious to see who would pick this fake news up in order to check for leaks.
