Lester Holt never did shit in Chicago because channel 2 was a train wreck around him.

Robert Jordan is the only guy I used to watch regularly in recent years, I would watch the Sunday night WGN news at my parents house.

Kurtis, Magers, Floyd Kalber, and John Drury. Joel Daly is close but his country music career disqualifies him.

Saunders and Jim Tilmon are on the Mt. Rushmore of weekend community service programming hosts, however.

I would have voted Fahey Flynn but I thought he was outside the 3-4 decade timeframe.

I can't believe he was only 67 when he died. He seemed like he was 100 years old when I was a kid.

:lol: While not exactly the same I had a similar feeling regarding John Coleman. I remember thinking we were young and he pretty old when he left Chicago. Mostly because he was on tv my whole life until then. Came to find out he went to GMA, Weather Channel etc and a whole second life.

Spmack, the first time I saw her she was broadcasting from the Bud Biliken parade, which she said that she had never heard of. Now growing up in Evanston and having a father who often hosted the channel 9 coverage it seemed odd. To top that, I've heard her say more routinely clueless things ever since.

To be as plain looking as she is, you'd think she'd actually work at her craft. But no, she plods along doing as little as possible befitting her legacy status.
