Every defensive player in the NFL needs to take a knee and refuse to play right before the game starts.

But seriously looks like they’re walking this back just a little.

That Jerry Hughes play has to be the one that does it. The Bennett call was atrocious, but there has been a ton of atrocious calls and honestly it doesnt stand out THAT much.

But to have a 30 year old 9-year NFL veteran just let a QB go like that? Its humiliating. The QB's have to be humiliated, and maybe if more of them starting speaking out (and not just after it costs THEIR team) maybe we can see movement back to sanity. Two weeks ago I said pass rushers had to learn how to abide by the new rules, now I have seen how impossible their jobs are and its just not football anymore.

I do worry about going overboard with rule changes to counteract this offensive explosion. I think a big part of it is the fact that half the league is running a terribly outdated scheme and the young offensive minds have totally cracked it. The other shoe will eventually drop and defensive coordinators will begin to adjust. The era of the 4-3 base defense that just moves over to nickel packages to mimic offensive personnel and occasionally "mixes it up" with a blitz to bring a 5 man rush is over. At least for the time being. So is the I LOVE BLITZING I CANT HELP IT Jim Schwartz nonsense. Using a variety of fronts to rush four and drop eight is the future and players who can both rush the passer and drop back into coverage are the players teams are going to covet (aside from the absolute pass rushing freaks of nature like Clowney, Mack, Miller etc).

They called Bennett for doing what Mack has done each week. They are getting crazier with the rule.

Bennett didn't even try for the strip sack. The call sucked but fuck him and fuck his brother.

I shouldn't have said Mack but that arm tackling has been the way a lot of the Bears defenders have been bringing down QB's. To see it being flagged now, even if it that dumbass Bennett, scares me.

I'll care when it starts impacting the Bears.

It will. In fact I am certain it has been mentioned in the league office how the Bears led the league in sacks before their bye and still haven't gotten a flag. They are going to throw one this week just to make a point.

That was awful

That was a very violent tackle. Great call. Safety is paramount.
