Brees is having the best year, and he's 39. With Brady being 41, how long can a person play quarterback? With the new rules, maybe someone can play till 50. I bet Dan Marino and John Elway could still go out and throw rockets.

America and I don't agree on much but there's a reason our top 4 has been the same(in slightly different orders) since thread creation, even with others on the list fluctuating pretty heavily. Wilson's gotta be top 4.

Why do you hate Rivers?

Rivers is an all-time great who never won. Also impressive is that he throws like a shotput yet still manages to get it downfield pretty regularly.

I have him 5th on my latest list. It sounds like your beef is with America

All time great seems a little generous. I agree he's been underrated pretty significantly throughout his entire career though.

I have Rivers at 6. So I'm not calling him chopped liver either.

Great QB's don't let their team go 4-12. Their presents shits out 7-8 wins automatically. Rivers is not a great QB.

I'm not unreasonable. If leash or Nas can drop 1,000 words or so stating Rivers case over Russell Wilson I'll review the case and render an unbiased verdict

He's been on the cusp of top tier (and for stretches in the top tier) for a long time.

I do wonder what will happen when this generation finally does leave (Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Rivers, Roethlisberger).

It doesn't seem like there is anyone to fill that void and these guys, along with Peyton, have been the proverbial cream of the corn for a long time. Maybe it always seems that way.

I didn't say he was. I was just commenting that Rivers has had a great career but won't be remembered all that much because he spent his days in San Diego with mostly mediocre teams.

The teams were mediocre because he was/is mediocre.

That's not 1,000 words and tbh it's a pretty bad case.

Verdict: Russell is still better than Rivers

I vaguely remember people having similar worries when guys like Young, Elway, Marino, etc were retiring in the late 90's. Someone will fill that gap, whether it's Mahomes, Watson, Mitch, Darnold, Rosen, Baker, Luck, etc. Wilson and Cam will do a solid job leading the transition.

The fight to keep the likes of Phillip Rivers and Stat Padford out of the Pro Football Hall of Fame needs to dwarf the fight/intensity to keep Brett Kavanaugh off the Supreme Court. This will be huge.

The fight against Eli is of much greater importance. Rivers isn't a HOFer but he's twice the QB Eli is and always has been.

I've said this for years. My good friend from New York gets so pissed off, he will actually start to get chesty over it after a few drinks. Giants fans are an odd bunch.

The problem you will have arguing against Eli is his two Superbowls. And neither are a Dilfer situation either. For those two moments he actually played pretty damn good to win it all.

He led his team to 17 points and 21 points in the two games. He wasn't very good in either one. And you can't talk about having shitty seasons keeping you from being great and then claim Eli is great. He's had many more shitty seasons than Rivers.

If you're gonna put anyone in the HoF for those two Super Bowls, put the Giants' defensive lines.

Russell Wilson played on teams whose defense carried him, Rivers has carried every team he's been on. His stats are superior. Especially this season. Rivers likely wins about about 3 SB with that defense.

If you gave Wilson Melvin Gordon that O line and that WR corp he would be putting up Mahomes numbers. This is a bad argument.

Rivers makes everyone around him look good. You should know that. Granted Rivers had a great offensive coach who was an idiot head coach.

Do you guys think Carr going to NYG for a swap of 1sts is possible? Say Giants pick 1.1 and the Raiders pick 1.3?

Bortles benched. Kessler takes over the 32nd spot.

The SYSTEM BABIES, DYING STARS, RAW YOUTH, "SOLID" VETERANS, COACHES PETS tier has essentially into CLINGING TO/ASCENDING TOWARDS RELEVANCE tier or the UTTERLY HOPELESS tier, which at seasons end will leave us with the same dynamic we opened the season with: a generally anonymous bottom-third that probably isn't worth starting unless they are age 25 or under. The three rookies straddle this divide by all being kind of shitty but also all showing encouraging signs of growth and potential. Is Josh Rosen really better than Case Keenum? No. Would rather have Josh Rosen than Case Keenum? Hell yes.

We are just seeing the class lines in the NFL QB world develop.

Almost no movement in the top half except Mahomes moving a few more spots.

Alex Smith continues to drop. I'd definitely have Wentz above him. Wentz looks good this year.
