Mariota was sacked 11 times today and he only completed 10 passes.

Why are people desperate for Gruden to fail? Is it really that a decade as an announcer on MNF (he was infinitely better than what has replaced him) has really rubbed so many people the wrong way?

He was really bad as an announcer and that's part of it but also trading away Khalil Mack and then going on to complain about how hard it is to find a pass rusher is probably the biggest part of it. He's just a clown. I think it's more just acknowledging his clown status than actively rooting for him to fail.

So ok he's not allowed to want a pass rush now that he's dealt Khalil Mack? Arden Key and Bruce Irvin are just allowed to suck? The Raiders may not have even had the money to put in escrow to sign him according to some people and even if they did its a roster decision they made. They cant just sit around all year thinking "oh we are not allowed to want to get better because we traded Khalil Mack"...nah, screw that.

Let's face the fact that other than Kelechi Osemele and Marshawn Lynch there is no really good player on the Raiders. Aside from the Khalil Mack pick Reg McKenzie has been a Phil Emery-tier bad executive. Rebuilding the Raiders is going to be an undertaking on the level of what the Bears, Browns and Jaguars had to do. By the time Oakland has put together a little bit of talent Mack will be 30 and while maybe not in actual decline the Raiders will have spent the prime of his prime to get them from picking 4th to picking 9th.

Who's the worst team in the league? It's gotta be the Cardinals. Giants are close but not this bad. Bills losses against the Ravens and GB were probably the most pathetic team performances to date but they at least have two wins.

Gotta be the Cardinals.

Only the irretrievably stupid latch on to "the Raiders couldn't fund Mack's contract" nonsense. There is no truth to it. Morons.

Oh, Rodney Hudson is a pretty fair center.

Shit I forgot about the Raiders. This Cards team can probably at least hang with them.

Steve wilkes said he wants Rosen to learn from the first half. I think the only thing he's learning is that his coach is awful and he shouldn't put a lot of effort into learning the playbook since it'll be a new one next year.

No way.

Gruden is going to fix things during the bye week.

He represents Mark Davis overstepping his football people to do something capricious and expensive, and Davis is the one moving the team to a hellscape because California wouldn't give him a free stadium. Gruden looked exposed by the end of his run in Tampa and that was ages ago.

NFL fans like the idea of the Raiders being in Oakland. But anyone who has been to Oakland knows that no one wants to be there.

Exactly. Vegas is better in every conceivable way for the Raiders for anyone who doesn't live in the small market of Oakland and even those fans seem to be mostly ok with an excuse to go to Vegas a few times a year.

Vegas is really terrible. I would honestly rather go to Oakland.

Either way, ITS LONDON TIME BOYS.

I'm all about being aggressive and whatnot but what Vrabel did was stupid. Kick the XP and go to OT.

Tough break for Jacksonville, no one could have foreseen going into another season with Bortles starting being a problem.

Even that Jags defense can't overcome those issues.

Cody Kessler 9/13 51 yds and a TD pass to Yeldon so far. Maybe the Jags defense will start playing now that Bortles is benched.

The perpetually confused look on Jason Garrett's face is a thing to behold.

I visited there once and got lost in their subway system. It was not fun.

I was there for a Bills/Dolphins game where they gave out posters of some Bill player, but most people were using the poster to discretely urinate through.
