That is a good point... I think the cider industry is starting to spread out to other fruits and pears are a key category that could be utilized. I really recommend this report on the growth of pear cider -- yes, it is $300, but I think you'll find the content really stimulating. The forecast goes to 2021, so you are getting a lot of bang for your buck.

I'm also optimistic about the artisian pear butters that you see hitting the market these days -- those are really hot now (yes, there's a slight downtrend because of pumpkin butter season) but I think you'll see that market triple or quadruple in the next five years. The U.S. should be in good shape on pear consumption in the next few years -- move over apples, there's a new fruit in town!
