Last year was the first year that the two main guys played together. I'm wondering how its year 6 when Ben Simmons was drafted two years ago?

Explain to me a way that they could have been better without tanking?

Do you want me to name the teams that they have bypassed that didn't tank?

They've been tanking for like 6 years. You don't get to call it year 2 just because they finally got good a year ago from all the tanking.

The reason tanking took longer was due to injury not ineffectiveness. It hasn't been 6 years either. Nerlens Noel trade occurred about 4 years ago. 6 years is a lie.

Again how could they have been better without tanking?

Don't tell me about vague terms like "draft better" either.

How do they contend with guys like Noel and MCW as their best players?

Yep. Now you're all in on Boston when just last year you proclaimed the Irving trade to be a failure for them.I believe shit for brains I said the only way Boston would win it all is if they had LeBron

You're running from the Wolves after saying Philly would never be better than them.Jimmy got hurt allowing Philly to pass them

Still claims that the Tank job is a failure even as Philly is no worse than a 3 seed in year2. And you think you know sports.   Top 3 seed big deal....they have the worst shooting backcourt n the league and their defense is suspect

Trades and Free Agency, aka the Houston Rockets route.

Which trades? Again thats vague. Before they started tanking their best player was Jrue Holiday.

Fact of the matter is that in year 1 of their core guys playing together they made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs. In year 2 they are contenders. They also have 2 of the top 20 players in the game. All as a result of tanking. Its foolish to say that tanking wasa failure and if the league hadn't pulled the plug on Hinkie they'd be further along right now.

That goof Colangelo screwed the franchise.

Leonard is cruising at half speed on defense on Opening Night. Take Toronto out of the contender category in the East.

Very much so. I never really even liked DeRozan or Aldridge before last year but I still find myself rooting for the team. Love Aldridge now after last season and hoping to have a similar 180 on Demar. Pop's the man.

My main focus is on the Jazz Kings game now. LTG/312, let's see what your boy Fox has so far in his second year.

Nvm DeRozan is good. He's a Spur.

Butler is the fuckin man though.

Great start to the season for Towns. Fouls out with over 4 minutes left off 3 straight fouls on offense. It's also a bad sign when your teammates are giving Dieng more looks on offense when he's in for you than they do for you.

I don't think I could stomach a full season of watching this Minnesota offense, and the sad part is it will only get worse if/when Butler goes. Just so many desperate contested floaters in the lane. Taj looked his age and was bullied by Aldridge all night, Rose looked awful in general, Wiggins played a good first half and then was only sporadically present, and they just wasted one of the few good Teague games they'll get. Butler had no business playing 31 minutes after basically no preseason and one practice, yet he still looked better than everyone else on his team down the stretch.

Spurs are going to be a playoff team again, and I doubt there's even much drama about getting there. DeRozan's already looking more fearsome on defense than he ever did at Toronto, and it's really going to be a problem if some of the Spurs shooting magic rubs off on him. I remain convinced that they chose the best option with the Kawhi trade rather than trying to go full tank.

As a semi Spur fan my main concern is Aldridge and DeRozan will end up splitting MVP votes and someone like Lebron or AD will end you winning as a result.

The Spurs are going to miss Murray though. I don't think they can be a top defense without him.
