Wonder if we'll ever get the Old Orchard Yellow Line.

Metra is entering a death spiral, however.

The only reason they got away with the shuttle buses is because the 95th Street branch of the Red Line runs on the median of an expressway. Lucky Chicago.

I dont see the point in comparing the two though. New York would probably be better off looking to the Tube or another system that is similarly sized to their own.

Yeah we really gotta fix Metra if we're trying to bring as many office jobs downtown as we can.

Metra can only be fixed so much, because they have to use the freight railroads' track. That's why the BNSF line to Aurora runs so infrequently off-peak (pretty much just 1 train and hour after 7pm), and why the Heritage train along the canal only has like 3-4 trains a day in each direction.

I'm going to stop there, as they are a previous client of ours.

well many of the other lines have virtually no freight whatsoever. But yes that BNSF line is messed up.

the damn locomotives are like 40 years old! some of the cars go back to the 50s I think.

Northwest and North Central have a fair deal of freight traffic. One train per hour after 7 sounds reasonable enough to me, though.

NYC subway ridership and miles of tracks is like 7 times more than Chicago.

Be like saying bus ridership in Sioux Falls is more efficient than Chicago.

NYC has a crazy 9 million people in a small area. Chicago is 2.7 or so.
