Was it one of those things where he promoted something here without Bigfan's permission?

He tried to run a contest, and bigfan thought it was too close to a contest he wanted to run, so bigfan created a much worse contest and deleted IB's contest.

ixnay

I think that is why he did not come back.

It used to be that this board highly valued privacy then this generation of people who don't even understand the concept registered and now its like one big foam party

What? He posted the story himself (and it was hilarious). Maybe Irish Boy doesn't value his own privacy.

Yes, I think he realized that he said too much.

I've read part of it. Not surprisingly, it's quite good, especially considering how young he was when he wrote the book. Irish Boy is a super talented guy.

North actually asked why he can't use that word when they use it in their songs, awesome.

Yes, if my timeline is right, I started hating women and minorities right around that time.

Was reading the old Sale Trade thread. Sorry Juice. This did not age well.

Feel free to make the contrarian case that this trade was good for the Sox.

They got Baseball America's #1 prospect when they last updated the list mid-season in 2016. They also got a fireballing pitcher ranked just behind AJ Puk and Brady Aiken by MLB.com, and ranked in the ballpark of the Dodgers' Frankie Montas by BA.

Moncada is under full team control (has yet to even start is arbitration clock), and has displayed power-generating bat speed from both sides of the plate, as well as pitch selectivity that will allow him to work deeper into counts and hit more fastballs.

Kopech dominated in the AFL against the league's best young talent, and reached triple digits in his outing in the Fall-Star Game, and has by a few reports developed a changeup to pair with his plus-plus fastball and plus breaking ball.

Both of these guys have the legitimate potential to be 4+ WAR players, and Moncada's ceiling is MVP-caliber.

Basabe is a plus defender in the OF, and both his arm strength and power rated as above-average. He, again, is a switch hitter that can work deep into counts, and his bat speed from both sides of the plate can manifest in above-average power- and average-hitting. Were it not for Moncada and Kopech, Basabe on his own would be battling Zack Collins for the organization's best prospect.

All they needed to give up was a top-5 starter with whom they haven't won anything, and didn't project to win anything until after his team-friendly contract was up. They sacrificed exactly ZERO playoff appearances to set themselves up for the next 5 years

Even trolling that's an awful thought. There is no planet where a guy who is considered the 2nd or 3rd best quarterback by all (in what looks like a really good top 3) wouldn't be drafted in the first round.
