He's nothing like Cutler. He will keep you in games because he actually tends to be conservative. With his draft status, he has to be great, though. Maybe he will. He's still very early in his career, especially given his lack of college experience.
I think it's fair to acknowledge that he missed on a lot of throws today, though, and looked bad at times.
I've been doing this since about 1pm. I haven't seen anyone say that he shouldn't be more accurate.
My point is (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is way down on the list of problems and near the top of the list of positives. I want him to improve but I'm excited about the growth I've seen. He's already been more productive in 6 games than he was all last season.
That list of positives has to be pretty short. That being said, all in all, (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky helped the team today more than he hurt the team (but he definitely had plays where he hurt the team.) The defense really needs to get back to where they were a few weeks ago, and the special team issues today are obvious. I do feel there is some growth with (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky, but you see QBs on other teams that haven't had to go through this and it is hard not to be envious. They have better weapons around them no doubt.
Who are the QBs on other teams who haven't had to go through a progression like (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky? Last years favorite, Watson, got injured and is struggling this year. For the record, I wanted the Bear's to draft Watson last year. THis year, Mahomes is the STAR. No question about it. I do not downgrade him a bit BTW and wish the guy well. But take a look at the talent that he has around him, right?
But other than Mahomes, who is the young quarterback that you'd rather have on your team other than Mitch? Seriously?
In the age of Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, you also had a guy named Drew Brees. All three are first year HOF qbs. So what I am saying is that while arguments of who is the best quarterback is fun to do, who cares if you are a fan? I give a shit if Mahomes is considered better than (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky. As long as (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is good enough to lead a team to a championship, that's all I care about.
So I say once again to you critics and naysayers about (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky and yes, Nagy. Give it a LITTLE TIME for cripes sake. This is not a Super Bowl team but then can win the division that they are in because none of these teams are Super Bowl teams. BUT NEXT SEASON...…… with a good draft and a couple of breaks, they will be a Super Bowl contender I predict.
