The Jets haven't been as bad as their record but this should be a game the Bears win at home.

Their record isn't even that bad. This could be a tough game if the defense keeps playing like shit.

Thought the spread would be more than Bears -6 or -7.

Every game is going to be tough if Mack is incapacitated and the rest of the team refuses to tackle.

I'm also disturbed by the team's recent tendency to play poorly in the first half (Miami, New England). What is Nagy doing to get these guys ready to play?

Just like Miami was a game they should win on the road.

I'm torn about this. I like that he is making solid adjustments on offense at halftime but I would like for them to play well to start the game like they did the first 4 games.

The Jets OL is not good and their offensive scheme is sad and lifeless. Bears are pissed off and ready to clobber some team that is worse than them, especially a rookie QB This is the opposite of @Arizona. Nagy will not need to motivate them.

Don't discount the hangover effects of overtime games either. Bears will be fresh rested for this game after a full week at home. Jets are fucked.

I don't get many of the Bears games at home when the Packers play at the same time so really hoping I get to see a better performance than
the last two weeks. Mack dragging his leg around is not helping much. I wonder what kind of injury he has because in my mind if you can sit
him for a week and have him come back at 90% or better you do it. He must need a surgical procedure or something. He has no explosiveness.

Mully and Haugh seem to believe that Mack has suffered a high ankle sprain. That could be a pretty serious injury requiring several weeks of recovery--or even surgery.

Drive 15 minutes south.

I would be kind of relieved if Mack had a high ankle sprain. Because the other option is that pretty much every coordinator in the NFL has found a way to neutralize him.

Mack is clearly playing hurt. He was a detriment to the Bears on Sunday, especially in the second half.

He should be inactive this week, and stay off of his feet as much as humanly possible until next week Wednesday. If the Bears can't beat the Jets even without Mack, this team is in serious trouble.

Agreed. There is no point to play him if he isn't 100%. That said, they should try and keep it a mystery(his status) as much as possible before the game. Let the Jets plan a protection scheme that will be completely useless.

Not sure about that. Is the next man up at 100% better than a hobbled Mack?

Olin and Big Cat say definitely not

A hobbled Mack is better than the guy behind him on the depth chart, but I don't think the team is better. Fangio has been trying to run a injured Mack the same way as a healthy one. Hoping he destroys his one on one match up and the others clean up. If he had to game plan without him, it might force him to get creative for once.

No way should Mack play Sunday.

It can't be much worse. Mack had one tackle on Sunday. That means he wasn't near the ball and was getting pushed around and blocked. A Mack-less Bears team should still be able to defeat the Jets.

Perhaps one week off doesn't get Mack to 100%, but it could get him to 75 or 80. That could bode well for the Bears later in the year, when they have MANY division games on their schedule.

This is kind of what I am wondering. If he takes a few weeks off and we get him back at a serviceable level then we have the 2nd half of the season.
He was completely neutralized last game and wasn't in on any pressures or tackles and was getting pushed around by linemen. If it is a high ankle
sprain and it is going to be like this for the foreseeable future then maybe you have to deal with it. I also heard something about him never missing a
game in his career so if there is some machismo thing happening here it is coming at the expense of the team defense.
