is there anything worse than when someone serves you a slice of pumpkin pie with no whipped cream.

As we get into pumpkin pie season this is always something that gives me a level of anxiety that a person should not have. I'm always trying to scope out the pumpkin pie situaish at any function i go to to see if there is whipped cream already applied. But the tricky thing is that sometimes its done to order, so there being no whipped cream on a pie is really not and indication that whipped cream will not be made available during pie distribution.

I always make it a point during the pre-pie dispensing operation to get a drink or something that takes me through the kitchen to make sure there is whipped cream somewhere.

Asking if it has whipped cream and then saying no when told there is none is generally ok when the pumpkin pie is store bought. However if a pie is homemade, turning down a slice due to no whipped cream might not end well.

Basically I avoid pumpkin pie at get togethers because there is so much
Image
going on.

If I am going to have Pumpkin Pie I need at least a 1:1 ratio of pie and whipped cream. Oddly enough a couple of years ago my wife
got me turned on to the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard at DQ. Although I am a bit biased because of my love for ice cream, it is actually a
pretty good Blizzard in small doses.

Small doses for you, no doses for the step-son?

Of course the ratio of whip cream to pumpkin pie should be 1:1. Still.....even with no whip cream, pumpkin pie is delicious.
Blasphemers!

You are obviously exaggerating. Pumpkin pie is the best of the shit holiday foods. Green bean casserole is the shittiest.

Wow, my spellcheck knows how to spell shittiest. I'm impressed.

My grandmother served it. I don’t believe young squirrel ever tested his intestinal fortitude on that. Also, pumpkin pie sucks.

Absolutely not. Make green bean casserole with cream of chicken soup instead of cream of mushroom. It's like an entirely different dish.

Terrible Holiday Food RANKings??

Fruit cake

Candy corn

Mayo from a jar with a spoon

Pumpkin Pie

Exactly. People need piles of whipped cream on top to cover the disgusting taste of the actual pie. It's like people who put tons of sugar and flavored cream in their coffee and then tell people how much they love coffee. No, you don't.

I didn't say that fruitcake was good. I merely stated the indisputable fact that fruitcake is miles better than pumpkin pie.

Pumpkin pie is great. One slice at Thanksgiving. One slice at Christmas(maybe). Have another next Thanksgiving. The same is true for egg nog and Christmas Ale. Give me one and I'm good for at least 11 months.

Doesn't matter how big the dose as long as I get to eat it in front of him. :eye: I was merely saying that a small or medium
is all you need with the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard or you are risking a pretty good stomach ache. That is what I heard anyway....

They can celebrate Christmas just like most sane people that know the stories are made up.
