Sounds much tastier and probably more healthful than bland ass pumpkin pie. Pumpkin pie is the store brand mayo version of deserts imo.

I've never seen it served at a community thanksgiving meal. The last time I had any, I was rushing and mistook it for the far superior sweet potato pie. One pumpkin pie bite was more than enough for a quick trip to the garbage with the remainder.

My first job onboard my ship in the Navy was night baker. About 2 am a large African American guy from the deck department came in the bakery to talk to me. He was a big body builder type and looked scary as hell.

Apparently, this was his first Christmas away from home and missed his grandmother's mincemeat pie. He asked me if he gave me her recipe, would I make it for him? He even offered to pay me to do it.

Turned out he was a very nice guy and l made that pie for him following his grandmother's recipe to the letter. I didn't take his money, of course, but I did make a buddy who was the biggest guy onboard. Came in handy when we docked in liberty ports.

By the way, I love pumpkin pie drowned in Cool W-Hwip.

Sweet potato is far superior to pumpkin and I almost never get to have it. Maybe that’s why I find it so much better than pumpkin. Luckily my family still has the apple or chocolate pie choices at the holidays.

Grandma’s fruit cake had enough rum in to satisfy a pirate crew. She may or may not have been an alcoholic.

Punkin pie looks
delicious

but once when I was just a young shaver
I stole a piece before Thanksgiving dinner.
Just before devouring a piece
little germs were exploding inside me,
unbeknownst to me.

And two hours later
and in the front room by the tv
(the immovable mass of brown wood
and vacuum tubes which took
two men wearing Sears jackets to carry in)
and on my dad's Winstons
(those were his punkin pie in those days)
and in the bathroom
where I had finally been exiled,
I puked it all out
and remember wondering why
it was all liquid
because it was solid when I stole it,
and it was solid when I ate it.

Now I take a piece
but only to wrap it up
for my wife or son.

Were you more offended by the dig at whipped cream or the dig at trash?

If you don't like pumpkin pie you're either a communist, a satanist or a methodist.
Either way...

My son loves pumpkin pie. I have to make him his own on thanksgiving and Christmas.

I make him pumpkin pie for his birthday. He doesn’t like cake.

Pumpkin pie is just alright with me.

Nothing worse. Pumpkin Pie is the shittiest of the shit Holiday foods.

Not even the shittiest holiday pie with Mincemeat pie existing.

Where do you live???? Fucking Victorian era England? Nobody serves mincemeat pies....

My dad used to search high and low for mincemeat pies around the holidays. I think he finally got the Lake Geneva Pie Company to make one for him as a special order. Had that one all to himself for sure.

Fuck whipped cream.

Warm, graham cracker crust pumpkin pie with one scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.

Boom.

I dunno, I always loved a nutty fruitcake as well.

Eggnog, yes, too.

I even like the pickled herring (with our without creme) that is laid out on the table as a pre-Christmas Eve dinner garnish.

Buzz's Key Lime Pie. It is the best tasting pastry and that can't be denied. And good Ol' Buzz wants you to give it a try, saying this tastes really good when you're high, this tastes really good when you're high.

Well I couldn't stop at just one bite, it got me higher than a freakin kite, but that's how Buzzy wants it to be. He's got his very own special recipe, with a crust that's made from home grown weed, and a ton of sugar to make it taste real sweet.

Then he asked me to go vote for him, but I had to workout at the gym. The pounds were piling up, I was getting a big time gut.

Well, I hope that Buzzman wins it all, and comes out for a curtain call, and opens a store in the shopping mall called "Buzz's Key Lime Pie."

My mom makes the best pecan bars. We stopped the pies a few years ago. I made a great chocolate cake last year and am looking for stuff for this year. If you got any good ideas especially grab and go desserts send them my way. Pumpkin anything sucks!

99.9% agree.

If you have a pukey cat or dog, feeding them canned pumpkin is a great way to get them hydrated and full of nutrients again. Plus, it is very easy for them to digest.
