Curious about the pumpkin v. sweet potato pie debate, I made a sweet potato pie from this month's Garden & Gun magazine. Now this particular recipe had a lot of arange zest. tasted very arangey. crust was outstanding. maybe the best I've ever had.

I'm still going with pumpkin in the debate, but it could obviously go either way depending on the specific example. Obviously I'm going to take pretty much any homemade S.P. pie over a frozen Sarah Lee's pumpkin pie.
