Once you start bringing up stats you lose me.

IMU hasn't even mentioned the offensive lines yet, which has the biggest gap of any position group between Chicago and Houston. The tutor needs a tutor.

Except that I've learned from my Minnesota Vikings OL discussions over the past couple of weeks. These casual NFL fans don't understand the importance of offensive lines. It would be like explaining to Kyrie Irving why we know the earth is round. Goes right over their heads.

So you're judging talent based on volume? You're the NFL version of LTG. Congratulations.

Production matters. Naturally gifted people don't always produce. Quarterbacks are judged by winning and statistical production.

But Watson's production shows nothing that you'd criticize him for. He has nothing besides Hopkins. His statistics are exemplary, all things considered.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky and most quarterbacks would love to have a similar safety net. I never criticized his production. I just said that you can't say he's "definitely" better than (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky when (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky has similar or better stats this season.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky does not have Hopkins but he has more numerous outlets for short passes in a spread offense. He also has two reliable running backs that make sure defenses can't cheat as often as they do on Watson. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky having a 65% completion in this offense is sort of embarrassing.

You want QB's to be judged by winning? Houston is 5-3 and in first place. Chicago is 3-3 and in last place.

Watson for his career is 8-6. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is 7-11. QB win-loss is as bad as starting pitcher win-loss, but brought it up.

It has been since Week 1 that you've allowed me to tutor you. We'll have to set something up again soon.

What? Miller and Fuller aren't bums and having a stud is far more important than having competent guys. Howard and Cohen have sucked running the ball. Miller has been better this year. Patrick Mahomes has a lower completion percentage in the same offense so this is getting bad for you.

We'll see where the Bears are after 8 games. Something tells me they'll be 5-3.

We're not talking about last season's records or stats. We're focused on the present. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is projected to have better stats and better numbers than a guy who you claimed was "definitely" better. By no objective measure are you right.

No he isn't. Their per game numbers are remarkably similar. Watson's y/a is significantly higher, and that's about all that stands out when comparing the two.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky seems like he will have more TD and more INT, but the ratio will pretty much be the same.

It's hard to say how it projects. Mitch has 6 TDs in 1 game and 7 TDs in the other 5 games. He doesn't get to face Tampa again this year.

Watson just had 5 fewer touchdowns before last night. Do you see how your bias affects you?

TB has the worst passing defense in the league, Miami is a middle of the pack defense. That's a crucial difference. Do you see how your bias affects you?

Mitch #1

Mitch #4 (as per IMU post earlier)

Mitch #1

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000799332/article/2017-nfl-draft-trubisky-leads-qb-class-lacking-elite-talent

Mitch #1 (from KC paper no less)
https://www.kansascity.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/red-zone/article143214069.html

These were some of the top Google links. I am sure we could all find confirmation bias. It is way too early to make a definitive judgement. Injuries, progression and regression will all play a part. You have to judge the picks at the point in time where they were made. It seems like in April 2017, there were plenty of folks that felt Mitch was #1. There was no excuse to trade up. That was unforgivable.

Your point was 1 game skewed his stats. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky was a shit call from hanging 4 on the Dolphins

Now it appears that Mahomes is by far the best in the class. I can live with (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky being some combination of McNabb and Romo. I couldn't live with him being a combination of him being Leaf and McNown.

Almost no chance he becomes as good as McNabb or Romo.

He's looking like young version of both right now.

To be fair, Watson just had his 16/20, 5 TD, 0 INT game to boost his own numbers.

Which I think highlights their season parallels even further.

(I had this post written up and forgot to hit send. We could be way past this now if Nas has rightly admitted defeat.)

Not accurate or confident in the pocket. Happy feet. Better on the move. Can beat you with his legs. Doesn't handle pressure well. Really good leader.

I know exactly what FF would say if the situations were reversed

"Yea five TD's but only 239 yards"
"The Dolphins defense sucks!"
"HE HAS HOPKINS"

You have never and will never see me say yardage is more important than TDs.

Tampa Bay literally has the worst pass defense in the NFL through 7 weeks. That wasn't an excuse. It's reality.

Both are meaningless. I am post-stats. Done with it all. I don't give a shit.

Mitch looked just as good against Miami as Watson did against Miami, and Mitch was on the road. He was abandoned and sabotaged by his own coach and defeat was snatched from the jaws of victory. Very sad.

Nagy is the sole reason Mitch looks like a starter right now. This is a bad spin job.

You don't think Reid and Nagy had something to do with Mahomes development and reining in his stupidity?

I do. Mahomes went to the perfect situation. Similarly, Mitch got the perfect head coach this past off-season. Coaches have more influence and impact on how their QBs are performing than ever before.

I don't know why anyone bothers with this piece of shit Green Bay troll. All he wants to do is piss Bear's fans off.
