If one believes in heaven, doesn't that mean there must be a hell because how is "heaven" going to be "heaven" if the evil people get to be in heaven? Wouldn't such a scenario be a rerun of what has already happened on Earth?

Back to the earlier point about the cross, if heaven is not dependent on the cross, then why send Jesus to Earth at all? If people don't need a Savior, why send a Savior?

The significance of the cross is that it's where the small and large evils of humanity are paid for. Through the death of Christ people find forgiveness for their sins and finding forgiveness gives you the grace to forgive other people. The converse of that is you can just be a miserable person who is bitter and vindictive who can't move on with your life because you can't forgive the people who have done awful things to you.
