Since we're Dinks, we'll be sitting in the garage drinking and handing out candy. I may even hand out red solo cups of beer to adults.

Indoor drinking doesn't hurt the kids' eyes as much as outdoor Frank. The sun is bright.

If the kids are letting you tag along while they trick or treat, then they are probably under the age of 10 or 12. They are running around with their friends, trying to accumulate candy and paying absolutely no attention to what the parents are doing / saying / drinking. There is no impact on the kids.

I explained the difference. You haven't. Internally I'm sure you have realized what a stupid argument you have decided to take on. Wave the white flag already. Better head on over to Doug's place, dressed in a costume mocking domestic violence, and chide him for handing out beers.

Let the record show, I repeatedly asked Frank what specifically was the big issue with drinking moderately while trick or treating. Each time he refused to provide a direct answer.

Hopefully you don't get a lecture from men dressed in costumes depicting the murder of women.

Getting the chills typing this, but I agree Bob...

I think if done in moderation, its good to drink in front of your kids. Let them see that you can have a drink or two and not be an idiot. Maybe when the kids grow up (high school/college) and are around alcohol, they won't think its required to drink 25 beers before the night the over. My kids have never even seen me buzzed, but they have watched me drink hundreds of times.

if you wear a scary costume of any sort, you are depicting the murder of everything. Not just women.
Zombies that crave cupcakes aren't threatening...

And if there are grown men dressed up in my neighborhood trick or treating, then I need to move.

As long as you are done driving for the day/night, who cares? What is the issue?

I think it sets a bad example for children when every moment has to be accompanied by alcohol for one issue.

I assume you refrain from any type of drinking when you attend sporting events with your kids.

As a grade School kid when my dad got a beer at games my brother and I would both take big chugs before he got it. Once, we took our coach to a Hawks games, and he was like wtf?

You have to get good and loaded before you head out.

Finally got the first set of four kids to stop by at 6pm. Last year I had about a dozen kids total. When I first moved here, I got zero most years unless it was on a Saturday.

I don't care if people want to drink a bit, but they shouldn't be shitfaced. Also, put some rum in coffee or something. Don't be carrying around a bunch of empty beer cans while you're falling all over yourself. Embarrassing.

I drank a couple of good beers while wandering the streets of Lake Bluff. It's pretty much an open carry holiday here.
