The ouji is kind of a trite example and I think its been disproven.

I think if you were really interested you would raise it to a more macro question of how we might invite these things into our life.

As an aside, I don't believe in ghosts.

Yes Demons.

No ghosts?

Ghosts, to me, seem like a cruel creation for a religious person to believe.

Here's a question for you on ghosts... I used to love ghosts when I was younger and I still watch those cheesy shows... but here's my question...

If humans in our current evolutionary state have inhabited the world for millennia, why are all ghost sightings of people from less than 100 years ago?

your conclusion is incorrect

Would you divulge a bit more here? Geesh, I feel like I'm talking to my kid.

for anyone interested in a little fun Halloween listening, Art Bell's discussion with Fr. Malachi Martin are a good listen. You can find them on youtube. You could spend literally 10 hours listening to his interviews from many years or limit it to some lunchtime listening just on the topic of demonic possession

Reports of ghost sightings have been around forever.

I remember reading some psychology on early human belief in spirits having been from an inability to separate sleeping interactions with the world from waking interactions.

So, how is my conclusion wrong? Do ghosts just stop being ghosts after a certain number of years? You'd think people would see all kinds of ghosts around from thousands of years ago.

Also, if you're familiar with sleep paralysis, there are a lot of people who attribute that with "sightings" of things like ghosts, aliens, etc. I had it frequently when I was young, and it is absolutely terrifying.

People have always seen apparitions throughout history. Some explainable. Some not.

IMO a lot of spirits/ghosts that people see are residual energy. Like a left over footprint.

MANY spirits pass on naturally, but sometimes a tragic death can linger on our side. Instances like a suicide, murder, or traffic accident can lead to a more noticeable/maybe aggressive encounter with something halfway here and halfway gone. Poltergeists and demons are so rare tho. It's usually, "What's that sound?", "I saw something out of the corner of my eye", or reoccurring dreams.

People report "seeing" ancient ghosts. All those tower of London stories are an example. I don't know if the Greeks report seeing Plato walking around.

"Nope. More of a ghost."
"Believe me, I'm a demon."
"I'm not even sure you're a hellion."
"Oh, I'm a demon."
"Sorry. I wouldn't even say you're villainous."

10 more minutes and then the demon leaves Rick's body.

Tyson is too personable to trust as an astrophysicist. I like my world-renowned physicists to be secluded weirdos.

I'm an admirer of the guy but I think he is a Bernstein type where is a raging rectum occasionally playing the role of a personable character. Every single interlude of that piece he pulls the Bernstein "it's not even X" and then goes on to state essentially the same thing the host stated but in a much more verbose fashion.

To your second sentence, I sometimes watch those Nova type shows where they discuss a heavy scientific subject and have some back office scientist who looks like a complete misanthrope but happens to be a female and think about how wild she must be in her amorous pursuits. I don't verbalize those thoughts because I have been promised no trust tree or safe nest in my home

I thought this was going to be about that hot chick that gets nailed by ghosts. I’d like to study that topic more closely.
