I do not own a DVR. I watch nothing on TV except for live sports and the occasional news.

Even with OnDemand etc you still have to deal with commercials. Same with sporting events sans DVR. You really cool with watching all sporting events live and with all commercials?

I couldn't watch the Bears if it wasn't live or I would have to go off the grid to prevent folks from ruining it for me. Anything else I really don't care. I'm usually doing 20 things at once (except when the Bears play) so a commercial break doesn't usually bother me.

For me the answer is obvious. No way could I live without a DVR. I could live without a cell phone. Only area that would suffer is I like to use Waze for traffic, but I guess I could just use the GPS built into my car.

I hate talking on the phone, but a dvr hasn't proven to be worth more than the occasional benefit.

95% of the time I'm on the phone I'm online, so cellphone.
