... we should relive the greatest scene in the history of theater, and in many ways, the greatest scene in the history of artistic expression.

Had the infamous words "He's not a machine! He's a man!" not been uttered, we would likely be living under Russian oppressors to this very day.

Here's to the fight that destroyed a genetic freak, won over an arena full of Ruskies, and destroyed Communism...

This is the greatest scene in all the Rocky movies -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uoo8B7MFUY0

Tony Burton destroys this scene.

Honorable mention to that scene in BALBOA where he's chewing out his kid in the street. That might have been the best scene Stallone ever did.

Can't pick out a specific scene but I thought he was great in Cop Land.

Tony Burton is a great actor... great scene...

But nothing beats the over-the-top cheesiness of a single boxer ending the Cold War.

Oh, I'm all for ending the Cold War.

Let's do it again.

But I like the character stuff a bit more.

There are so many great scenes in the Rocky movies, hard to say one is the greatest.

When I was a kid we didn't hardly ever go to the movies and I begged my mom to take me to see Rocky IV. She finally relented and absolutely loved it. In that clip where Drago cheap shots Rocky my mom yelled out in the theater, "HIT HIM ROCKY!"

I am so pumped for Creed II!!!

That chewing out scene is the best scene in the Rocky series by a wide margin imo.

Love the Rocky films.

Always thought this was a funny scene from Rocky 5 after Tommy challenges Rocky out to the street fight...

I only cried twice from a sporting event: when Chubbs died and when Creed died.

Saw it last night.

Not as good as the first one, but still very enjoyable. You could tell Coogler didn't direct this one.

Casting Carl Weathers as Apollo was more important than anything else Stallone did in that franchise. He looked the part. He played the part. He was a villain you didn't hate not because of how it was scripted but because of how he was acted. If Weathers had played Clubber Lang, you would have like Clubber Lang.

I don't think it would matter who directed it, it was not going to be as good as the first one.

Can't wait to see it.

I think you'll see what I mean.

The first one had little cool movie stuff like the long shot fight and the records on screen and just a lot of little stuff where you'd say "oh, it was cool how they did the training and Adonis ran to Rocky's apartment"

The boxing scenes were much better in the first one, too.

With all this said, it's a great movie for Rocky fans

Saw it this afternoon. Really enjoyed it, but you are right it was not as good as the first one.

I don't want to give any spoilers to people who haven't seen it yet, but I thought the ending was well done. Curious to see if they go for a 3 or if that is the end.

They have to go 3 and beyond. The ending was really good but a lot of it was very predictable. If you're a Rocky fan you'll definitely enjoy it. RPB shared some scenes that were cut from the movie and I was disappointed they kept them out.

I really liked it. Like everyone has said if you are fan of the franchise you'll like it. One thing I really like about the Creed movies is they do a good job of making the fights more realistic. There are still moments of disbelief, but they seem to have made a concentrated effort to show the flurries of hard punches are only 30-45 seconds of a round. Michael B. Jordan is a damn good actor.

They do make the fights more realistic in terms of the up and back of who is winning. They still aren't very realistic with guys taking head shots round after round and still standing for the last round.

What the Creed fights do not do well is incorporate the overarching narrative of story into the fight. In Rocky, the fights tell a story. In Creed, they are just fights

I disagree. The Creed fights certainly tell a story.

For sure. Also the Conlan fight in 1. The whole climax of the movie takes place in between rounds.
