I had no problem with the joke itself - it wasn't real funny, but whatever... its comedy. The worst part was when Davidson said the guy lost his eye due to "war or whatever," all dismissively.

He really only ever plays one character. Leslie Jones is the same way.

I haven't watched it in a long time. I think it's odd my kids haven't asked to watch it, not sure they know about it? I watched in the early 90s at their age but that was a great cast. We watch clips sometimes and they love it. They like the movies from that cast too.

SNL is more cultural than anything nowadays. You can find amateur videos in 5 seconds on YouTube that are 10 times funnier than any SNL skit in the last ten years.

I cant' believe I am saying this but Keenan is the only funny one on the show. He is just awesome at doing his characters. Mckinnon is not funny at all but its required that you laugh at everything she does.....even though its the same creepy, deep voice, bad accent character with uncomfortable eye contact. Davidson has a weird Norm vibe where whatever he says is funny because of his awkward yet self depreciating cadence.
