Hold on a minute, I think they just called another phantom penalty on Amukamura (bad Rosenbloom reference).

But the defense is devastating. I see Pro Bowl caliber players all over the place. We are spoiled rotten and nobody should be bitching and moaning. But like a few posters said, it seems to be a problem with Cub fans. It’s a mental disease. Thank Christ that my dad brought me up the right way and told me that I shall worship Carlton Fisk, or otherwise, it could be me posting like Hank Scorpio (an otherwise good poster who is guilty of putting forth bad vibes).

Yeah the bludgeoned ‘em, but, but...

I still remember your first post ever. It was the greatest first post in the history of the board.

I stand corrected. It was his third post...

  I thought he was a mult at the time. In fairness to him the people who love me most have probably had dreams about strangling me. Plus whiskey dick was likely responsible for the creation of all my kids.

A game against the Bills means absolutely nothing. It's predictive of nothing and should be disregarded immediately. The Packers shut them out for fuck's sake.

I have a more optimistic point of view than MANY do in this thread.

This was a fight against a one armed man and the Bears naturally came out on top. What's the big deal?

There is no big deal beyond the Bears surprisingly being in first place at the halfway point of the season.

I think Vegan is referencing the Bills game.

I think that I was one of the only people who were cautiously optimistic about this game. Most had it as a blowout so I don't think MANY are excited about it. The season starts on Sunday.

Count me in on the cautiously optimistic camp.

I couldn't be happier to be in first place with a 5-3 record. Yes, I know we could/should easily be 7-1 or 6-2 if a couple of things went our way.

However, like Mully & Haugh just said; We haven't beat a division opponent yet... the season starts on Sunday.

If Mack is back and healthy the next few weeks are going to be fun.

Very.

I heard Kreutz talking about high ankle sprain injuries and he said it's a 6-8 week injury.

Can it get worse? Mack at 85% is still a good player

It all depends on the severity of the sprain. It will be a month since the injury against Detroit. If he has to sit this is the game to do it out of the next three.

Cranky middle aged man. And Nas is sort of right. I cloak myself in constant negative thoughts so that I can’t be let down, only pleasantly surprised.

Again, beat Detroit and I’m thinking differently. Beat the Vikes and I’m sitting next to Nas on the bandwagon singing Bear Down. Hell, go 1-1 and I’ll still feel pretty good.

Yep...and the last two of these next three are bad spots. Vikings will be coming off a bye and getting players back on a very good defense in two weeks. Playing the Lions on THanksgiving is an unfair disadvantage.

I'll be smiling if they got 2-1, but essentially this week is one of those must win games if you have playoff hopes I actually think this week's game is a good spot for the Bears with the Lions having just gotten beat up by the Vikings and feeling lost after a white flag trade.

2-1 in these three divisional games would be very nice. 3-0 obviously would be outstanding.

The Vikings play 4 of their final 7 games on the road and none of them are easy. The Bears have 2 games that we should be able to pencil in for W's out of their remaining 8 games. If they split the other 6 games they are a playoff team. Because you are dealing with a young QB I think the home games are must win.
