Yeah but it's got some additional ones. WTTW has 4 channels Prime, Kids and a few others, WCIU has about 6, Buzzr, antenna tv, cozi. There are probably a good 50 channels. I don't care about HSN and stuff but have no idea what some of them are.

Buzzr has all the old game shows and antenna tv has old sitcoms. I think we may have lost PBS too. Just trying to figure it out.

Check this out. It should list most of the subchannels.

So I am coming up on my 1 year anniversary from cutting cable and going to Sling Blue. My last ATT bill was $174 with Direct TV and Internet. My monthly bills now are $100 for Sling and internet. That $74 a month savings works out to $888 for the year.

Just find someone in your family that still has cable and borrow their login info. As long as they have TNT or TBS, you will get the games.

The only thing I have missed so far that I would have watched was the Cubs wild card game. Glad I didn't watch it.

True....this first round of games have mostly been blowouts. Still....the wife and I always enjoy the MLB playoffs.

Reddit streams keep me going overseas. Got to see The Pass Completion last night from Brees.

Saw the HOF game by Mitch.

Saw the Cubs' el foldos.

I can now enjoy playoff baseball.

I use the HDSports link that's listed in the game feeds. Always solid.

I'm now 2 years post cable and I have to say, the streaming services keep getting better and better with their options and the features that come with them.

It's looking like 2020 is when they finally get as good as cable. Most of the dvr options are still bad.

Unfortunately, the next shift will be for every company to have their own streaming service.

Still rocking YouTubeTV and while it definitely has its limitations, it is by far a better option than expensive cable. Supplemented with NetFlix, Hulu, and Prime, you've got yourself more than enough to watch.

We just got 2 Roku thingies and now I am tasked with finding the best streaming service.
I read one review that said YouTube TV had the best looking and reliable stream, but it doesn't have TLC or Food Network which my wife might consider a deal breaker. As far as I can tell, YTTV and PLaystation Vue have the best channel line-ups, and we already have netflix, prime, and hulu. Any suggestions?

YouTube is by far the best but ultimately cable is a better value.

YMMV, but I think we pay around $200 for Uverse with all the fees and rental bullshit. YTTV is $40, and if we got Xfinity 'blast' internet speed installed, I think it would cut our bill in half. I'm just wondering who actually has the best 1080p picture of the streamers and what you guys think of the picture and reliablity. The channel line-up is gonna have to be negotiable. My girls are on their fucking phones most of the time even when they're watching one of their shows, so.......

I don't see how cable is a better value. Depends what you watch and how important TV is to you. Since I have cut cable and went to Sling Blue, I have been able to watch 99% of what I wanted to watch and cut my bill by $75 a month. And the one time I couldn't watch what I preferred (Cubs Wild Card game), I ended up watching something else. I'd say paying more and getting more is a worse value for most people.

I'm always paying for a promo. Not sure how anyone who isn't single doesn't keep one.

Yeah, I pretty much concluded that, too - at least for now. I mentioned earlier in the thread that we tried Sling for awhile, but when we moved, we went back to cable. $150 a month for the second-from-the-top TV package and internet (Spectrum, the old TW). My issue with TVOI is still that the frame rate lags behind cable, and makes live events look like they are shot on film. Not to mention that you're not stealing bandwidth from other internet devices, either.

My first job out of college was with a Canadian cable company that built up the much of northwest suburbs. A perk-free cable-lasted for a decade after I left the place, for whatever reason. So I've had cable for a long, long time. But we cut it, too. We use Hulu along with HBO streaming and an antenna.

I was very concerned about the quality of the picture and about the way the platform is designed to operate versus the way I actually watch television. I'm not a binge watcher. I don't consume music in that vertical manner either, I like things on shuffle. I like live TV.

The quality (once buffered) is adequate, although channel surfing is hindered. You need to stop watching one program (live sports) to check out other programming...and I need to get a remote that works as a better alternative to my phone, especially for our bedroom.

That being said we are are saving money and I'm sure we'll make some adjustments to the new way.
