And Simmons ain't Wiggins. They were a successful team without him and he has to think about that. Those guys are competitive and "the I'm the only guy that works hard , plays hard, or has heart" routine won't fly in Philly. Butler isn't the savior in Philly and hopefully he realizes it. It also really doesn't benefit him if he is a cancer.


2nd or likely 3rd option and if he is comfortable with that then fine. Ball will be in Simmons and Embiid's hands. Its their team.

One thing that may burn Butler up is the fact that Embiid doesn't really practice. At least he didn't last year. They withheld him from practicing as a way to protect him against injury.

I'd assume that they have continued this practice this year also. Embiid really hasn't been injured other than the collision with Fultz.

I wonder if Buckets is going to be cool with that.

Seeing the results he has to be. Embiid plays with intensity and heart too. I'm sure he's not just sitting around at practice playing video games. He's getting some type of work in. Butler has no excuses now. IF he continues with his diva shit there won't be another big contract

They have Redick but Redick is a liability defensively. Their biggest problem in the playoffs was that had no one that could create off the dribble other than Simmons. Redick Bellinili and Illasova were all liabilities on Defense and they couldn't get a shot off on offense. Stevens repeatedly attacked Redick and Bellinili and McConnell off the dribble. Covington and Saric struggled creating offense also.

Fultz and and even have some semblance of an off the dribble game. I'd rather have that than a standstill jump shooter any day. Butler and Covington are probably a wash defensively. Covington is probably better on the ball at this point.

I've always been a Jimmy guy. Embiid shooting 5 of the teams first 6 shots seemed to me like he was trying to make a statement like it was his team still.
