Probably the best right handed power hitter MANY of us will see in our lifetimes. Some of his numbers from the 90s are Babe Ruth/video game like.

93-94 were just about the best ever for a right-handed power hitter.

And although it was 2000(?), he was robbed by that damn juicer and the press' foolish infatuation with Billy Ball for the MVP.

If I objectively looked at it I would have to acknowledge that Pujols was awfully close and could understand someone giving him the edge. Frank's level of dominance and consistency in the middle of the steroid era gives him the edge to me.

When I put my fan hat on and consider that Pujols played for the Cardinals and Frank was my 2nd favorite player for most of my childhood then Pujols isn't close

I wouldn't say that. They're similar.

Frank is the best right handed power hitter since integration. I think that's pretty fair to say.

Sammy Sosa was better. Also overlooked, probably due to his time with the Sox.

I'm not sure about that. I think Henry Aaron and Manny have good cases.

Not even fucking close, as a complete hitter Frank Thomas shits on Sosa. Sammy hit a bunch of home runs in an era when everybody was hitting a lot of home runs. He was not the complete hitter that Frank Thomas, Manny Ramirez and Albert Pujols were in their prime. Although, Sosa's 2001 season ranks up there with some of their best seasons.

Pujols first 10 seasons may have been even more dominant than Frank but Albert's decline afterwards has been as dramatic as any I've ever seen for a superstar of that stature. He went from being the best player in the world to being arguably the least valuable player in baseball considering his rapidly declining offense, his declining defense, his inability to run the bases and his massive contract.

Better at what?

Playing the field. DH allowed Frank to pad his stats.

He didn't pad shit. When Frank was at his best, in the 90's, he was playing first base. And he was the best hitter in Baseball.

He couldn't hit 20 home runs before the Flintstone vitamins and 6 years later he's hitting 66.

It doesn't matter anyway. DH is a position. If it didn't exist Frank would have played first base all the way through.

His contract isn't his fault... they knew they were buying some dead years in there, they just didn't realize how many they would be buying. But yeah, that is a fast decline in skill.

Not a position that requires any fielding skills. One tool player.
