Well, it comes off like everyone working there- including a big black dude- was like, "Not these assholes again." The manager wasn't rude at all. She kind of smiled at the jerkoff and said, "Hey, you guys always come in here without any money. We're not making any food unless you can pay." She knew who they were. And the guy's Twitter suggests she was right. Let's not make this a racial thing. Are we really going to take the side of some bum who is proud of dining and dashing over that of a hardworking Hispanic woman?


This is not a battle between those two parties.

The policy exists to cover the company's ass. There is the policy, and there is actually getting the work done. This incident it part of the larger problem of identity politics, and the way that it poisons our interactions.

It's really simple. If she wants to keep her job above all else, she should follow company policy. If her principles get in the way, she should take a stand but deal with the consequences.

It seems like you are arguing she shouldnt have to do something because it annoys her. That's not reality when you work for someone else.

I certainly have not made anything racial here or advocated for the guy.

Im asking the question because it seems like people are making the leap from "this guy has dined and dashed somewhere at sometime" to "this guy dined and dashed at THIS Chipotle"


I think Telegram Sam is right about how she should have handled it.

Sales calls from a queue system? I did that for a time. Brutal. A guy by me had a earphone bud that he kinda hide and listened to Stern all day. He would find weird ways to block calls, and hit numbers by re-selling to his existing customer base rather than take leads from the queue.

Ok, well, managers of places like that would probably do well to try their best to do what the company would want.

I agree, claiming false racism and dining and dashing are terrible scumbag things. She should probably fight that battle with her superior later, not with the customer.
