Cubs are the number one team in town, until the Bears start playing. Then the Trib turns to them because they are just an embraceable, amazing group of fine men.

The Sox are going no where and I will cheer the Cubs on to a point but I chuckle at Harry with his Cubby chubby and with Mac tyring to quit smoking and Harry getting under his skin with his Cubs love , it won't be long before Mac is choking Harry again .

Silence... Grid has been busy making a fantasy football trade in Grid's keeper league. Bryant Johnson and a 7th rounder for Maurice Jones Drew and a 12th rounder. Bonus points for receptions.

I also almost just did a backwards flip trying to rake up some crap that blew into my yard over the winter, good thing the retaining wall prevented the flip, now I just have road rash down one side and my whole arm is bleeding.

The first weekend of interleague ended up 21-19 in favor of the AL.

One interesting thing about the Sox success that I have not seen mentioned is that they (and Toronto) have played the most away games in the AL. They have a winning road record at 14-13. This gives me hope that they have staying power.

A related note for Cubs fans on that info: Houston has played the most road games in MLB and has a .500 record. I said it before the season and I still think it is true, those Astros will contend.

An additional note: the top two teams in the NL as far as winning percentage is concerned (Cubs and D bags) have also played the least amount of road games in MLB (17).

The May schedule for the Sox is brutal. Not only did they have that 10 game west coast swing, but they only have 9 home games for the month, and they still have to play Cleveland and Tampa on the road, teams that are not exactly pushovers. The June schedule for the Sox is much better, both in terms of the teams they play and they are only out of Chicago for 2 series- @Detroit, @Dodgers, and @Cubs are the away series for the Sox in June.

They are also home for the first week of July, before ending the first half on the road against KC and Texas. They open the 2nd half of the season at home against those same teams. Lots of opportunity to perhaps build up a lead in the division.
