The answer to what they would expect has been provided multiple times already. You throw away the burrito if you do not receive payment.

If it becomes a chronic problem then of course you talk to your district manager. That is how these things work.

I almost can't believe this isn't a bit at this point.

MANY say the same thing about you.

Rick isn't wrong.

You know what it means. It's okay. You and MANY other posters believe that you're being treated unfairly by the media and society. You and MANY others try to highlight these perceived double standards almost daily. Regardless of how big or small they may be.

I'm not being treated unfairly by anyone. Why are you making it about me?

Maybe you aren't. That is a wonderful thing. That being said a large percentage of your posts and MANY others are advocating for a particular group of Americans who you all believe are being treated unfairly. This is just another thread about a perceived double standard. I get it. By now I imagine MANY others know exactly how you all feel.

Those people are stupid.

Rick isn't wrong; I just imagine he's the guy posing for "impromptu" photos in the corporate handbook.

That is a pretty funny scenario waiting on hold to talk to some corporate rep as a line of actual customers builds behind the register.

She's just following protocol!

This is another classic CFMB thread. We need to start moving these all in one section.

I hope you both know this but I'm not sure. This would pretty obviously be something you would talk to corporate about afterwards and then get their opinion on how to handle the situation the next time it happens.

Maybe Chipotle is actually really happy this whole thing happened though.

I doubt you can find another post of mine where I advocate for a female Hispanic burrito slinger. But I certainly think it's the right thing to do in this case.

The problem is that it was the manager who was the victim in this scenario. I don't get the point in finding fault for her not following a "policy" which none of us even knows exists even if that's what occurred.

Back when I managed a Papa John's, this was not an uncommon event. There would be the occasional no call/no show for pick ups, but most of the time it was a prank call asking for ten or fifteen pizzas to be made and delivered. Usually what tipped me off to it being a prank was that they would ask for everything, or just one single topping. I mean, who orders twenty pepperoni pizzas at once? If you're ordering for a party, at least a few are going to be different toppings. If I suspected it was a prank, I would ask the caller to repeat their order, address, or phone number and if was different than what they gave me, I called them out on it. 99% of the time, they hung up and that was that.

When I managed Villa Pizza (similar to Sbarro) at River Oaks mall, there were certain people (of all races, colors, creeds, and genders) who we rang up before we would make their food because of previous payment issues. Westwood College students were absolutely notorious for this. Policy or not, it got to a level where as a manager, it was a point of pride and I wasn't going to let that BS continue to happen. In this day and age, I probably would have been filmed and put on Twitter as well.

That's just my $0.02, and real world experience. To each their own.

I agree.

Media nowadays is nothing more than cherrypicking twitter trends.

Embarrassing doesn't begin to describe it.

Calmer than you are, dude.

As for intellectual shallowness, your posts are so transparent that the last time you called me a liar for something I said, you absolutely refused to provide even one example to prove me wrong.

But hey, keep on fighting the good fight.

As for this thread, I never once even mentioned racism. I just mentioned it shouldn't be a national story that someone tried to steal a few burritos from chipotle. Now, maybe that was too intellectually shallow, but that would include the guy not being a national story either because he was probably trying to steal a burrito. That may have been too nuanced for you though so I'll make it easier.

Story about guy stealing a burrito being national news bad. Ignoring a guy who tried to steal a burrito good.

Yeah you are so calm, dude, that you start threads just to some threads just to attack me and others implying you want to fight me. That was just calm joking. Then you said you could never be in the same room with me. So calm. Not a hissy fit at all.

I love that Robert E. Lee is bad and what about Asians, Brick is now claiming to be some champion of nuance. As for an example of you being a liar- look at your framing of this story being about stealing burritos rather than what it clearly is- grifters using our society's racism outrage machine to their advantage. But this observation goes against your religion. Dude.

What threads do I create to attack you? The hilarious part is that I was trolling pittmike with the "What poster would you like to fight?" thread and even then it was joking as pittmike is one of my favorite posters and I'm sure me and him would get along well. You somehow took it that you were the target which is hilarious. So, not only was it a joke, but you weren't even the intended target, and it still triggers you to this day. I literally laugh out loud every time you bring it up so keep going please.

You are projecting here. I had no opinion on the racism of the story at any point. I thought it was dumb that it was even a national story. That's it. You are fighting so hard to be a victim that you create your own narratives in your head(see the thread about me fighting a poster).

This is not personal. It's a discussion of media, academia, and how we are allowing facts to be subverted by a philosophy of outrage created by identify politics. I believe this to be a dangerous problem that has already put an unstable person in the White House.

To say you guys are just being outraged white guys really is missing the point. I don't feel "oppressed" anymore than any other working person, but I don't think our society is creating a sustainable future by declaring it to be inherently racist.

You are projecting here. I had no opinion on the racism of the story at any point. I thought it was dumb that it was even a national story. That's it. You are fighting so hard to be a victim that you create your own narratives in your head(see the thread about me fighting a poster).

Your first post in this thread was is this from some white outrage newsfeed. You framed it immediately as a race issue. Then claimed you didn't.

The rest is your- no you are the triggered one bit. I'm not angry or the victim. I laugh when I see IT guy projet hackneyed opinions on history, politics and emotional intelligence as if they were original genius carried down from Mount Sinae though.

This is just another thread about a perceived double standard.

Nas, do you seriously doubt whether there is a real (as opposed to "perceived") double standard when it comes to media coverage of stories like this, and that standard is based on immutable qualities like race, ethnicity and, sometimes, religion of the various actors?

That's not the story though. The story is that some scumbag tried to use Twitter to get a person fired and a major corporation reflexively obliged.
Not exactly. I'm guessing she was fired for not following company policy. As Sam has said, there are many ways she could have handled this. The worst case scenario for the multiple ways she could have done it is that she has to throw away a burrito. After that, call up corporate and get advice on what to do next.

Now, luckily this guy was easily proven to be a scumbag and she was vindicated for her suspicion.

The other story, the one no one is discussing, is the clear racial/victim hierarchy at play. In the same story where five white men were the culprits, the manager would have been the "Person of Color". It's almost like the paper bag test in reverse.
I'm not sure about that. It certainly didn't come into play with the man vs. woman part of it. It's possible though.

The only part of this story that is interesting is how Chipotle seemingly didn't investigate this at all.

Stop with the bullshit. Do you forget the Walgreens story a few months back about the expired coupon? Same thing. Any time it is a balck vs white thing now the company will take the easy way to not get the SJW to protest them and fire the person. Hell, look at Chick-Fill-A,they get protested every other month just because the founders religious beliefs. No one takes into account he gives his employees every Sunday off.

This story is about stealing burritos, and the answer on how to handle this without creating a national story out of it has been said multiple times. She was just lucky that she got bailed out by this guy being a really bad burrito thief.

Are you really arguing that SHE created the national story out of this? There were no other actors or groups of actors that were responsible for how big a story about a habitual petty thief got?

The story became big because the thieving scumbag made a (false) claim of racism and posted it to social media and of course , is largely getting a pass over doing so .

The guy is getting his soul roasted on twitter. I don't think he's largely getting a pass.
