It’s pretty bad. I love being a meatball but usually that doesn’t entail trashing previous successful teams you root for.

Remembering that Tommie Harris was hurt, what Bears players were better in 2006 than the players on this team?

Urlacher and Briggs are easy, obvious ones. Tillman was a lot better than Fuller is. Vasher was better than Prince. Harris did play in 12 games that year too btw.

The 2006 Bears defense was the best defense in the league and dominated all season long. It's weird you guys think they were anything less than absolutely great. Time has faded your memories of that team.

So 4 players.? Outside of Thomas Jones there wasn't a skilled player on that offense that was better than Nagy's boys.

Baltimore was the best D that year, weak ass division and cupcake schedule. I also recall a ridiculous amount of backup qbs that year facing us. Pretty sure new england had the 2nd best D

At least 6 defenders. Forgot about Mark Anderson’s great rookie year. The 06 defenses results speak for themselves. I suggest looking them up since you are the under the impression they weren’t great. This is a pretty bad take even for you.

You literally just described the 2018 Bears

You’re wrong on them not being the best. They were.

Mark Anderson didn't start. Even if you include Harris that's only 5 players and Vasher may be a stretch. Good thing you decided to ignore the offense because it's not close.

Yes Lovie was lucky to have Urlacher, the best Bear since Payton still, for that game.

I get your end game here FF.. You don't fool me. You're nervous, you see the writing on the wall. You see this young core that's well coached..you're scared.

The 2006 Bears vs the 2018 Bears

Offense: 2018
Partly due to the rules and the coach but this offense is better than 2006. Running game was probably better in 2006 but that's it.

Defense: 2006
As good as Mack has been, and he has been outstanding, 2006 defense was unreal. Creating turnovers and wreaking havoc.

Special Teams: 2006
On this everyone can agree.

You have to take Briggs off your list. Sorry, he plays the same position as Mack.

By the numbers I think that this defense may be better or equal in some many categories through 11 games despite the rule changes.

Nope. Briggs was not an edge rusher.

He was a left outside linebacker. Mack is a Left outside linebacker. Sorry, I win.

Mack is an edge rusher. That position doesn’t exist in 4-3. It’s patently false to say they play the same position.

Baltimore was #1 Defense. FF caught fibbing again.

They list him as an outside linebacker. Are you smarter than the NFL?

On another note, Ditka is dying seeing how great this team is and what type of potential they have. Get well, Mike.

Barring injury, the defense is only going to get better. Smith is still learning the nfl. Mack is healing and hicks is a beast. I think the bears can give the Saints a rough time. That is, as long as Mitch is healthy and gets to play the rest of the year. My meatball is growing weekly. It sucks I have to wait ten days.

Yes, and it is so annoying to me when they show the legendary LBs of Chicago Bears and then they put Mack in there. Well, technically he is a linebacker but he is doing totally different things. Mack basically does one thing (which he does very, very well!) while Urlacher or Briggs were more often tasked with coverage than blitzing.

Frank, FF?

You guys are self-hating, the bored deserves better than your empty thought. You want to relive the glory years of the '06 BEARS but you just shit all over peoples hopes and dreams.

You just have to be the LTG of bad thots. Thank God you spawned so you can spread your disease 15 years from now.

FF gets it. Also-- with the possible exception of Kyle Long-- everybody on the '06 offensive line was better than '18.

So was Frank Thomas in 1995.
