Squirrel - are you a farmer now? I am interested in where you live and how you came into farming. Seems like you were a city guy and I guess moved out to rural Illinois?

Yes.. how? How did I end up here? I asked myself that very question many times today.

I don’t live as far south as Scooter.

Do you like it there? Do you work still or retired? Meaning do you have to commute up to the city for work?

I've been thinking for a long time moving to somewhere like this. But maybe in Iowa since taxes are less than Illinois. Seems like simple living which is fine by me. As long as I have internet connection and the mailman delivers packages there it'll work. Just the weather in winter will suck.

Poured buckets for a while here in Orland, changed over to snow about 20-30min ago. Wind was really whipping around earlier, but actually seems to have subsided a bit. Got the firewood rack stacked and ready just in case of a loss of power.

Keep in mind, toothless Samoan methheads will be few and far between in flyover country.

Trashy white ones are abundant, however.

I dont know why we don't use weather technology. I think it's banned by the UN but i say time to unban it. Trump is the kind of guy who could do that. Weve had it for the last 30 years.

Think about the fires up in California. Create some rain in those parts and it would have helped. Heat up the chicago area maybe 10 degrees and you only have rain instead of snow.

Very nice little town. Grew up here. My wife is from Maquon about 15 miles southeast of here.

I farm so, although there are days I wish I was, I am not retired. My commute will be 100 yards to the feed yard tomorrow to push snow so the ground will freeze so I can bring semis in later this week. I’m also assuming my hired hand won’t make it so then I will have to figure out now I’m going to feed the cattle. It should be a blast. Can’t wait.

It’s snowing. Neato. Can’t wait for 4:30 to come so I can run the snowblower and drag my happy ass to work tomorrow.
