The word "gender" just sounds gay.

Isn't the baby shower enough for these fucking people?

Welcome to old timer status fellow relic!

I'm raising my kids on a steady diet of Goonies, E.T., Top Gun. A-Team, Beastmaster, Thundercats, He-Man, and the like in a desperate attempt to avoid them becoming plagued by Millennial weakness.

Great way to fast-track them on the path to gobbling cock.

I thought you were married, Julie. . . ???

I look at it the other way...if a couple has had difficulties conceiving, I'd think they would want to wait to make sure a healthy baby is born. But to each their own.

Of course, it goes without saying the reveal shouldn't start a fire. And a second DB to the forest service for withholding the video for a year.

i honestly couldn't imagine reliving the 2 greatest moments of my life by impatiently having to know the gender of my kids in advance of the moment they were born. Especially when my daughter (my second) was born. My wife wanted a girl so bad after we already had a boy and that moment will always be the greatest of my life. I cant count the number of times I suggest to friends and family who find out they are expecting that they should hold off on finding out and how worth it it is, but these days NOBODY it seems wants to wait. To each their own but i always feel like people are missing out on an amazing moment after months and months of anticipation. I have been to two of these parties and I think it is really silly. The other silly thing that comes to mind sort of related to this is this whole Homecoming/Prom "proposal" bullshit the kids these days have to do for social media. My son did that last year when he was a Junior and hated it so much that this year he told me he isn't going to Homecoming (he didn't) or Prom if it means he would have to do that stupid shit again. Its pretty much a requirement these days I guess.

I was happy my kids were born healthy. Both my wife and I couldn't have cared less about their genders.

When my daughter discovered that her second, and last sibling, was going to be another boy she muttered in her 5 yea old voice “Worst day ever.”

This is correct. We found out the gender of our kid prior to him being born and the day he was born was pointless and boring. My wife and I just shrugged at each other afterwards and I went back to looking at cat videos on youtube. I think if I had waited for the gender reveal to be on the date of his birth that the birth of my child would not be behind the day I had my first Chik-Fil-A sandwich.

Been to a few of them, a couple on-purpose/intentionally even. Experience reminded me of tagging-along to a Phish show down on Northerly Island: shite I hated for no particular reason, wasn't as bad as I anticipated in person. Prolly the drugs helped.
