Damn. I always liked him. Came through the screen as a decent guy with good acting "chops" as they say. Quite effortless. Appeared on Mayberry R.F.D. and even on the Dick Van Dyke Show.

It was inspiration for one of my favorite cartoons; "Go Go Gophers".

IIRC, he had quite a collection of Duesenbergs, or some other old school cool cars.
Also, his son John was in the band IDAHO, which I'd encourage everyone to listen to.
