There's no way Georgia should get in over Oklahoma. There's absolutely no reason the SEC deserves a second bid for a 2-loss team over an undefeated team and two 1-loss teams.

Why is the SEC the tougher conference? That was part of the logic used for giving Alabama the last spot last year and the rest of the conference outside of Georgia and Alabama proceeded to get worked during bowl season.

Georgia's best win is probably Florida and we know they're a good team because they beat LSU, who we know is a good team because they beat Georgia. The majority of SEC strength arguments for years have been utterly circular, especially now that members of the conference are regularly playing fewer out of conference FBS opponents than teams in the lowly conferences they're so often compared to.

The undefeated team I'm referring to is of course UCF. Laugh if you want but I thought they deserved consideration ahead of both Bama and OSU last year so I'm damn sure gonna vouch for them and their win streak overt a two-loss team this year.

They play defense. They also had a better record against non-conference teams than the other conferences.

Still, Georgia lost the game it had to win, so it's their own fault. And OU did take Georgia to 2OT last year in the Rose Bowl. I'd rather have to play Oklahoma than Georgia, though.

UCF is the best argument for an extended playoff.

Oklahoma has no business in. They only played two ranked opponents all year, Texas and WVU, none of them were top 10. Lost to Texas once and almost lost to WVU.

Until they gave up 41 points to Memphis without Anthony Miller even being on the field.

So, maybe if they extend it to 12 teams.

Listening to people argue about this is dumb. The 4 team playoff is there because people said you couldn’t definitively pick the top 2. Everyone knows who the top 2 teams are. The other 2 should be teams who might beat them. We already know Georgia can’t. So, why give them a rematch with Bama in 4 weeks?

I think Georgia could beat any of the 4 teams that get in today, they do get close to beating ALabama but right now they can't, and I think you have to have something for winning a conference too.

Notre Dame had to go undefeated to get in.

I look at Ohio State/Oklahoma, in my opinion, the better game would be Alabama vs Ohio State, but I don't know if they get by Oklahoma today, if they don't all your going to hear is like last year, a 29 point loss to Purdue.

I also wonder, will they put Notre Dame to 4 to play Bama and move Oklahoma/Ohio State to 3 to play Clemson.

I would give Notre Dame a decent shot if they play Clemson.

If Georgia gets in they play Alabama in the first round? That's a brutal draw.

I think it was Herbie yesterday that said he is moving UGA up to 3rd after the loss and dropping ND to 4th. If UGA gets in you have to do that. You can not put the exact same game out there again.

Iowa State and Army both ended up being ranked. Army game went into OT and the game against Iowa State was relatively close. Basically have the same schedule next year. I guess they won the games they had to, but I'm just getting sick of seeing them get into this thing.

The ACC blew this year, but Clemson is still pretty damn good.

Not the greatest bowl season coming up, but some intriguing games. I can't help but thinking that if they trimmed the amount of bowls by about four (conference tie-ins also can take away the best matchups), they'd have some better matchups. The Big Ten-SEC games are always fun, but why are Michigan and Florida playing on 12-29? I get it--the tie-in--but those teams, with their fanbases and records, should be playing on January 1.

Rose and Sugah Bowls: I like the idea of tie-ins (though the Rose Bowl is a little much with two of them), but it's too bad Georgia and OSU can't play one another. Texas kind of sucks and Washington is decent, but Georgia-OSU would have been a fun game.

NU and NIU can both win.

Some possibly underrated bowl games:

Alamo Bowl should be good: Wazzu vs. Ia. State.
First Responder: Boise State vs. BC
Camping World Bowl: Syracuse vs. WVU

they lost to alabama with a backup qb in a way. that was their playoff. the world would of set a fire if they put them into the playoff.

That said, for me, the arguments can go everywhere. ND went undefeated but they didn't really play anyone outside of 1 good half against michigan. and now they never have to join a conference. I think they should of bene left out because of that to send a message.

that said, neither osu or oklahoma have the defense to compete. While i'll enjoy watching OU against Bama's defense, bama with either QB is going to make mince meat out of them.
