This is just getting fucking stupid. If you don’t care to deal him for a perceived marginal return, fine I guess. But there is no fucking way with the current makeup of the Cubs roster that Schwarber should be “unavailable”.

I don't get it, Epstein sees something nobody else is seeing.

2nd power bat from the left side is all I can think of.

Is the DH coming to the NL and they're just keeping it hush hush?

 they know something we don’t. What’s new.

But really. You don’t believe Schwarber isn’t available right? Theo said no one is untouchable. Now the narrative being pushed is that the Cubs won’t part with Schwarbs, just like the Cubs have no money narrative?

I wonder if this whole 'the check book is closed this year' is all a ploy by Theo.

Maybe he’ll trade Contreras and put Schwarbs back behind the plate.

Its going to be great when they pull the trigger on the Contreras for JT deal later this week. They can have Happ or Almora as well if they take Chatwood along as well.

while this would be comedic gold....it's not going to happen. A 50 yr old Mike Piazza is a better defensive catcher than Kyle Schwarber. Then there's the other part of the job...ya know...handling pitchers and pitch framing.

Schwarber is a DH. One day....Theo will admit this.

There is no doubt in my mind that Mike Piazza is a better catcher than Schwarber is today.

That's a no brainer.
My point was Piazza was a pretty shitty defensive catcher...great hitter. At 50 years old I'm pretty sure Piazza would be dreadful....and that's about how I'd describe Schwarbers defensive catching skills.

I think Schwarber will be a very good DH as soon as Theo willing to admit he's a DH and trade him...he'd be lucky to finish even close to Piazza's career offensive numbers.

Something tells me Soto does a lot more catching than Piazza.

The Phillies signed McCutchen, so Harper isn't going there.

If they attach Amaya to a deal then it better be one hell of a package.

Agreed. Both those guys are at the top of every Cubs prospect rankings I looked at a couple weeks ago.

I wonder what the Cubs front office is up to?
