Abreu consistently puts up better numbers for a bargain price. You can pencil him in for a. 295 average, 30 homeruns and 100 RBI

Harper is good for .270/25/80. He isn't a great defender either.

I can easily see Machado on the Sox but there is just no way Harper is going there. He wants the national spotlight all over him. I can't imagine he started this process with anyone other than the Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs and Dodgers being a realistic destination.....maybe the Angels because they get some spotlight and Artie loves throwing stupid money at people.

Machado would be a great fit. He's more consistent and he fills a position that's hard to fill.

I think statistics wise, MAchado is the better fit, since he can play SS or 3B. Harper is more so the brand. Making the Sox a destination where FAs want to go, along with his attitude.

Not sure that brand will get you much unless Uncle Jerry starts throwing around money like he's George Steinbrenner.

I think it was The Kapman on STL who was saying that Brooks Boyer and the entire Sox Marketing Team were brainstorming the possible lucrative/popular deals and promotions they could establish with a Harper Brand. As I'm sure every other team as well.

The Sox won a WS with the most dominant playoff run we've seen and they're still excluded from talk about WS teams. Frank Thomas is arguably the best right handed hitter in history and he has to remind the "experts" that he played baseball. It's insane. I'm not sure a .265 hitter with 27 home runs and 83 RBI will change that. You very well may be right though.

WTF has Washington done? Yet you know Harper's name if you are a casual fan. That is the point. This would almost be like adding Ichiro with all the extra national income.

Teams just pitched around Harp, Put Abreu behind him in the 3 or 4 hole and watch his numbers explode.

OMG. Stop it with this crazy talk about Machado and Harper coming to the White Sox. Never going to happen. This is Jerry Reinsdorf we are talking about. As I have said before, even adding a Harper still does not make this team an even 80 win team. Their starting pitching stinks, their bull-pen is shaky, they have no catchers worth a shit and their everyday line-up will have maybe four decent hitter in it.

Their only hope is for the Hahn "prospects" to turn out better than expected and fr them to get new leadership, starting with their reptilian owner.

I don't think the Sox will get him either, but Reinsdorph rep is shit. Look at the Bulls and Sox, both abysmally bad and disfunctional. He should make a big move for that reason alone. Eloy and Harp and Abreu is real nice punch in any lineup.
