You seem like you suck at paperwork...sort of like your business in airport bathrooms.

Quit trolling for a "companion" at airport bathrooms. Maybe Don Lemon and LTG might accomodate you?

The stock is now around it's high price for the year and up 30% this year. Looks like the CEO deserves a raise!

I just ordered my Kirk Cousins #8 Minnesota Vikings Home Jersey from Dick's yesterday. Great experience.

At least the board now knows to consult Rick and myself on all future Wall Street needs.

The fallout continues:

“With sales falling, Dick’s now faces the option of closing its Field & Stream stores altogether. The Washington Free Beacon reports that Dick’s has 35 such stores across 18 states.”

Well even when I was saying the gun thing hurt them, which it did and continues to do, I admitted it was undervalued. That was obvious.

Everything about those articles says exactly what Rick and I have been saying. You've taken a hunting department that was trending downward for years, and it has continued downward, and you're blaming it on a firearm policy enacted in February 2018?

If this policy caused them to lose so much foot traffic, why aren't other departments hurting?

Because GDP is growing 4% and their main competitor is gone, so they are getting a bigger piece of a bigger pie. Their comp sales grew 1% excluding those departments, and that is nowhere where it should be. They should be growing comps 3-5% on average. It is having an impact, but you're too married to an incorrect theory to see it.

I don't short stocks Rick. I have played in the options market (puts) but only for event driven stocks like ones subject to merger announcements or FDA drug approvals.

Dick's is way undervalued relative to retail peers. They are supposed to make $3.10 per share for fiscal 2019 with the shares at around $35. If I was so inclined, the stock is a buy.

The gun thing is hurting them so much they are considering no longer selling hunting equipment because that is underperforming.

Stock is up and they are considering lessening or dropping more gun related activities.

How about this? We will know this publicly traded company is actually being hurt by not selling semi-automatic assault rifles when they change course and start selling semi-automatic assault rifles.

Interesting that you view the stock price as the sole barometer of this policy. The CEO specifically sited this policy when stating they may close these stores.

Often times layoffs will send a stock price higher, yet that is not typically a positive indicator of a company’s health.

Sears traded at $36 a share just two years ago.

This policy has hurt Dick’s, especially in terms of foot traffic, which is not a good thing for retailers.

Says the guy who acts like his job makes him an infallible source of info on anything related to business.

So when do they start selling them again? When do the shareholders force a change?

Ok. So when does the policy get reversed?

Dicks is talking about lessening their hunting business too.

Since foot traffic is down for guns, it follows that hunting gear sales would also drop. It makes sense to replace that floor space with something more popular/profitable.

I don’t know when/if they will change their policy. I would suspect it will take a new CEO or activist shareholders. Any policy that reduces traffic for a brick and mortar retailer is not good for the long term health of the company.

Further, MANY states, including IL, have restrictions on buying ammo, clips, etc online. So a rare brick and mortar advantage over Amazon has been lost.

I was at Gurnee mills and I can say the difference in traffic into outdoor world and dicks was significant.

Is the AR15 a popular Christmas gift?

Dick's stands by their policy so much that they settle lawsuits about it so a court can't find it discriminatory.

https://kobi5.com/news/dicks-sporting-g ... n-1-91109/

Rick off to a rough start this Sunday.

You don't understand why corporations settle lawsuits do you?

You guys keep saying it was a bad business decision. Why haven't they reversed it yet?

Because they're kind of like you and wont admit they're wrong and double down on bad ideas?
