Steak and Shake is not terrible but its not really a top choice for me. At any rate I agree I am too old for the trying to force a humongous burger thing.

It’s a post hockey meal for us out her from time to time as not many options after 11pm on a Sunday night. It’s fine for what it is but I’m generally starving after a game.

I had one of these at Replay Andersonville on Sunday. It was glorious.

Double Smashed Burger
Double patty of grass-fed ground beef, applewood smoked bacon, american cheese, caramelized onions, fresh tomato, arugula lettuce and fried dill pickles on a soft buttery bun

And it is stupid to compare what Chipotle offers to what you find at a taqueria or Mexican sit down. I don't go to Chipotle when I want arrachera and I didn't go to Tacos Erendira (RIP) when i wanted a burrito bowl.

Your simple mind cannot grasp that a type of cuisine can be done in a large variety of ways.

I ASSUME you'd like Chipotle if they offered a cocoa mole.

One of the best things I can say for Steak and Shake is I was surprised to learn years ago the one across a hotel from me was open for breakfast. They had good stuff.

Yeah I am not some guy looking to argue with IMU but I think I said before if I still lived in Chicago I would never choose Chipolte over a private little joint.

Don't get me wrong Mike, Chipotle has a place. Its not terrible (there's a ringing endorsement), and there are times where convenience trumps everything. Unless I had a gift card or a freebie, I would never seek out a Chipotle.
