Yesterday, you told us that the better and higher quality ingredients come from Chipotle. Seems to me the better and more quality ingredients are the ones that are prepared fresh on the spot, rather than scooped out of a metal pan that has been sitting on a steam table for a few hours.

If you think Chipotle ingredients sit on a steam table for a few hours, you've never seen the line at Chipotle. Also, how would sitting in a bucket change the quality of the purchased meat?

There are plenty of times I want tacos with cilantro and onion. I'm not going to Chipotle for that. I'm not going to Chipotle for a delicious skirt steak and black beans. I'm not going for any fajitas or mole. I go to Chipotle for Chipotle, and Chipotle hits the spot.

Some of you disagree. You will not be surprised in the least to find out that I think I know better than you and therefore I don't give a shit.

I thought it was because they couldn't come up with a price?

the other day I went to the little carnitas place on the corner where you can buy either a pound of carnitas or a pound of barbacoa. I asked if they could give me 1/2 pound of each. They said yes.

I don't consider Panda Express' Sweetfire Chicken on rice "Chinese food" just because they use soy sauce. But now that I'm on a lower sodium diet, I find myself eating it once a week because it has far less sodium than an American hamburger, and it is under 800 calories.

Yes, my life would be better if I cooked my own chicken and steamed my own rice. But even that wouldn't be "Chinese" food.

Back in the 70s/80s, my dad was a fanatic at his restaurant about putting "-style" on his menu descriptions. He didn't smoke and "barbecue" rib tips, he baked them and put a barbecue sauce on them. Thus, they were "barbecue-style."

Similar distinctions here, Chipotle is really "(Norteno) Mexican-style," Panda Express is "Cantonese-style," etc.

Nobody eats two Jack in the Box tacos for $1.19 at 3am and thinks that mamacita is cooking them. And if somebody does, they should not be allowed to vote.
