... It’s not the first time that Scalfari, a 93-year-old who has said he is an atheist, has made claims about the pope’s views, but the reference to the pope’s views on hell spread on social media during Holy Week.

The Vatican released a statement calling the article by Scalfari “the fruit of his reconstruction,” Rosica said.

Scalfari’s interview, published Thursday, quoted the pope as saying during a meeting that while the souls of repentant sinners “receive the forgiveness of God and go among the line of souls who contemplate him, the souls of those who are unrepentant, and thus cannot be forgiven, disappear.”

According to the National Catholic Reporter, the statement from the Vatican said that the pope and Scalfari had a “private meeting” with an Easter greeting but not an interview. The Catholic News Agency noted that it was their fifth meeting.

“No quotes of the aforementioned article should therefore be considered as a faithful transcription of the Holy Father’s words,” the statement said.

In an interview with the New York Times, Scalfari said he did not take notes and it was a chat. While Scalfari said he remembered the pope saying hell did not exist, he also told the Times, “I can also make mistakes.” ...

He said/he said. Not 'factual' in any actual way.

This thread really sucks. Saw it was 2 pages and was excited to read about everyone's Christmas menus and maybe even see some photos, but instead it's just a few people posting menus, only 1 person posting photos and the rest is the usual bullshit filler.



For the record, my Christmas Eve meal consisted of a french toast casserole my wife made. Christmas Day featured breakfast and lunch at McDonalds because literally nothing else was open including the chinese place and we had nothing in the house and then dinner at Taboun with my wife's sister and her family who I had never met in the 11 years I've known my wife. Her and my wife just started talking again after not speaking for over a decade.

Christmas Eve was a beef tenderloin, some carmalized onions, mashed potatoes and cauliflower. Salad and green beans as well. I can’t remember what else. Christmas proper was more low key and we did a basic meal with pheasant as the protein. Guess had shrimp cocktail as well..

While I’ve shot a few pheasant at the preserve I doubt this was one of them. The geese in the freezer in the other hand, yes.. I shot those but did them all as my alter ego, Sober Squirrel.
