Working midnights NYE and NYD. I’m sort of relieved that we don’t have to plan anything. Wife and kids are going to stay in and watch movies. We’ll try to FaceTime at 12.

New year's day with my mother's side of the family. Get to laugh at stories of crazy. Starting with my uncle who joined the navy during Vietnam when judges still had the service as an option. Of course he got two degrees, retired as a Captain & a head shrinker.

Thanksgiving with them resulted in a story about how the FBI raided their house in the 60s, who then almost got into a gun battle with the CPD.

NYE - work from home, take some carry out to my dad, but he will probably want me to leave before 12 because he is convinced that DuPage County roads must be full of drunks after midnight.

NYD - same side of the family as Christmas, just at a different house. Nothing particularly special, done by 730pm.

Thats a very nice thought. I'll be back every few weeks for my dad for hopefully many years. Not moving until late spring, although I'm gone for about five weeks through President's Day.

When I am in town, work is in the loop, so it should be easy.

I had to file some stuff today and during my journey I saw a guy at the corner of Clark and Monroe with his pants at his ankles, a woman in city hall mumbled something about Trump to me and then said she makes all the decisions and then a guy in the hallway looked at me and kept saying "pop, pop, pop"

NYE: Wife's working so 5pm mass for me, then a short workout, take down decorations, reading/tv, and a glass of wine with her if I manage to stay awake until she gets home.

Ive been watching the Twilight Zone Marathon today. Perfect for me. Lot of episodes ive never seen before. Great writing and acting that still stands the test of time. Better than most shows today.

Have something I gotta take my boys too and that’s about it. Wife told me I can skip to watch the Cats play but I’m pretty sure that’s a trap. Pretty exciting night. Have to work at 7 am so it’s not like I was going to be up late anyways.

I’ll probably stream the first half if the event allows me the ability. Hopefully home for second. I’m torn between that and just using the dvr and trying to catch up but I’m not a huge fan of sports on delay.
