Yeah I was on the re-sign Jake , why did they sign Darvish bandwagon and was totally wrong. Apologies are in order to Theo and Yu. Jake is done, Darvish has been great.

Would have preferred this two years ago, but if he keeps this up at worst he will be a trade able asset if they fire sale next year. Either way it turns out, it was a better signing than Jake.

Yeah as bad as it was for the first 2 years at least we are seeing some dividends and Darvish looks to actually getting better . We are at least going to get some good to great pitching from him for the foreseeable future. Jake is a dumpster fire.

yeah, Darvish seems to have finally found the ability to get beyond the 4th inning. 3rd year in and he's looking like the pitcher they hoped.

As an opposing hitter, i would still take as many pitches as possible to get his pitch count up...but that's not as valued as it once was. Darvish has nasty stuff....nasty stuff that often misses the strike zone and guys are chasing it.

It always seems like his pitch count is in the 80s by the 5th inning, but now it's while giving up 0 runs in that time instead of when he first got here giving up 3-4.

I don’t think either pitcher was worth the money they got. Jake just has terrible mechanics. Yu had injury and head issues. Luckily, Yu is finally earning what he was paid. But in the competitive balance tax MLB you have to consider large contracts in the context of opportunity costs. The Cubs ran out of room and had to reset the tax. So it is what could you have gotten with the Yu or Heyward money for instance.
