Who cares about the names given to a group of people? As kids we called each other Wop, Polack, Kraut, DP(generally given to Serbs, Croats), freebie, Limey, Spook, Beaner, Chink, etc. No one got pissed about it. It was a way to poke some fun at each other. I had a good friend in grammar school named Bugajski, we called him Irish. Generally these names were preceded with the term, "Fuckin". Now if you refer to anyone with those names, people want to cut your nuts off.
