At least one Chicago team knew how to win to day!! They actually look quite a bit better than rock bottom 6 or so weeks ago. Strome has been a great pickup and aside from Forsling and Seabs the D hasn't been atrocious. Drake should get his visa shit figured out soon enough and join the mix. I don't think this run is completely over. Toews has shown he can still hang this year and Kane will always be Kane. Keep developing the D and the bottom 6 and you can put something together in the next few years.

Strome has proven to be a capable 2nd line center so at the very least the trade will be a wash no matter how well Schmaltz performs.

Schmaltz was a mess here and I doubt he would have ever figured it out. Maybe the change of scenery will continue to be fruitful for him but I doubt it. Perlini can also be usefull on the bottom 6.

They said they were 6 points out but i believe the last time I looked at the standings they had also played like 3 more games than anyone so that is really 10 points and really hard to overcome without a massive winning streak.

I don't care if they make the playoffs...i just want to see them get better and develop the next sub-core. I think they are finally starting to do that and the performance of the prospects in the junior nationals was outstanding.

Kane is quietly on pace for 103 points. I hope he doesn't demand a trade this summer.

He has 3 rings, he is paid forever and his number is going in the rafters. The only thing left is to play with the same team forever and try and do it again. I think he is more than content playing out the string with the Hawks and then retiring, getting into the Hall, getting his number retired and then doing the alumni circuit.

That was a bad win. The Hawks are going to win too much and get in that 10ish spot in the draft when they need to go on a full tank this year.

The lottery odds don't make it worth it to be that bad and Jack Hughes isn't projected as a generational player or even perennial all-star. You can't lose 60 games just for a better shot at Nico Hischier or Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.

Took my son to his first Hawks game tonight. He enjoyed it and actually made it through the entire game. The UC was surprisingly full. First time I’ve watched them all year, and that is one atrocious PK.

Tonight was an example of why tanking won't work: Kane is gonna post a 100-point season, and it's not even as if you can tell him not to try, because he isn't really trying. Watch as he passed to Anisimov, who flung a big nothing right down Broadway that Rinne should have easily had but didn't because Rinne is slowly disintegrating like an Infinity War meme. That shouldn't have been a goal, and yet.
