They used to have a ritual at the Sopranos, when your character got killed off they took you to dinner in Little Italy. One season at a cast meeting Tony Siricio(Paulie Walnuts) told David Chase"If I fucking die,you fucking die." The thing being Tony was at onetime a real gangster so.

I hated "Pine Barrens". The Sopranos version of "Fly".

Yea, I hate the fly more than Pine Barrens but it's not one of my favorites.

It's kinda funny, but it went on too long.

My favorite episode is "Stage 5". "No more, Butchie. No more."

LOVED Fly when it aired. On rewatches it’s a bit boring but still funny.

I think Pine Barrens is an all time great episode of TV.

I have never understood the love some have for The Fly episode. On my recent rewatching of BB I happily skipped it

That's a great scene and would be in my top 10 for sure.

Also, Jeannie Sack is great in the climactic scene of that episode (no spoliers)

I dont know if I could pick one favorite. Long term parking is great though.

I also like Funhouse (seems like everyone else hated the dream sequence stuff, I liked it.)

The Finale is a great episode, too.

I didn't watch it during its original airing but binged a few years ago. I'm in the "best show ever" camp. Enjoy!

To me, The Leftovers is the greatest TV show ever.

Top 3 for sure.

Season 2 was damn near a perfect season of television.

$18 might be too rich for my blood. If it was like $5 less I probably would have pulled the trigger.

I'll allow it. I thought it was significantly better than Seasons 1 and 3 of the show and I enjoyed those very much.

Tough to rank a 3 season show with some of these others imo.

Are you opposed to bottle episodes on general principle? I like "Pine Barrens," I don't adore it, but I can see why people wouldn't like when shows that are all about longform, season-by-season storytelling go off and doing something else for an hour in the middle. I don't think "Christopher" (the Columbus Day one) was quite as self-contained as "Pine Barrens" but I had the same feeling. Maybe more like it was padding than anything.

The only good Bottle episode ever is "Zack Attack"

I loved the show.

Top 3 was a little exaggerated but top 5-7 for sure.

‘The Wire’ is the GOAT show.

‘Band of Brothers’ is the GOAT mini series with ‘Generation Kill’ behind it imo

I started out with the Sopranos way back when season 1 aired on HBO2 (I think thats where they stuck it originally) and I liked it. But I couldn’t get into the subsequent seasons.

I always thought ‘Boardwalk Empire’ was on its way to GOAT discussion before Winter got pulled away to do some gay ass show based on rockstar life or whatever the fuck that bullshit was. In any event, I was impressed with what he did on short notice for season 5. Could have been far worse and he actually wrapped everything up decently.

‘Breaking Bad’ was great at 1st.. but the story started to feel like they didn’t know where they were going and needed filler until the end. ‘Better Call Saul’ is superior in both acting and writing imo, but isn’t going to rope in casual fans looking for generic entertainment.

‘Justified’ was also a good show and it ran for just the right amount of time. Not on par with some of the other shows mentioned in terms of status, but it holds up as a great modern day western style cop show. Elmore Leonard is a bad mofo

I don't think they started the show, or any show, on HBO2, that was just where you were catching reruns.

Either way it was during its 1st season, may have been re-runs I dunno. It was years ago tho.. (98-99?)

Terrible. No way is BCS superior in any way shape or form. BCS is a good show, but BB is rarified air.

NME is correct. BCS is an all time great show on its own.

NME, WZ, and myself appear to be on an island here with that opinion though.

Saying it is great and saying it is superior in acting and writing are two different things.

If someone wants to say it is a great show, I am fine with that. I really enjoy it. But to say it is superior to BB is just silly IMO.

I think there’s a good argument to make that the writing and acting is superior but the plot is way less action packed so that makes it “less interesting” to most people.

The same exact writing team did both series so it’s tough to make an argument they somehow got worse, especially when most people acknowledge the writing on BCS is superb.

I don’t get the silly comment.
