This notion that Forte is not a breakway back confuses me when I hear that Mendenhall can outrun a defense and I look at their 40 times.

Maybe Forte doesn't have "the movement" or "quickness" it takes to dodge defenders. I haven't seen him play, but maybe, like Cedric, he just runs right into them and falls.

As long as he doesn't run right in to the ol or directly into a defensive player he is an upgrade.

From the video Ive seen of Forte, he wont be breaking anyones ankles, but he has a mind for using the momentum of defenders against them with simple shifts of his body at speed.

No flash, just a shifty runner that can plow over a guy once and awhile. Given his size and frame, Id like to see him bulk up his arms a bit, and really use them to complement his style of running.

The knock on him, aside from the injury and the conference he played in, was that he doesn't show good acceleration. I gotta tell you though, he hits the holes hard and fast from what Ive seen, and the 40 time shows good acceleration for a guy over 220lbs.

I know alot more about Rashard Mendenhal then Forte, because I'm an Illinois fan and I went to the same high school as Rashard. However,

Anything can be better then Cedric Benson.
