One night after his Sunday night CBS gig he was in with Les for a hour. Les steered everything to yesteryear. Then basically patted each other on the back, and praised each other for an hour.

i agree. he's clearly very talented. I'm not the biggest fan of "post-prime" Mac, but i think Parkins will get better over time as he becomes more secure in himself in a market this size--assuming he stays in this market long term.

his tendency to white knuckle the wheel when driving the show is a product of his obsessive desire to "prove" he belongs in the drive slot. once he chills out a bit and gets more polished in other areas, he'll be very, very good.

I really enjoy his Sunday night work. I'm not sure if it is due to my familiarity with him but I think Parkins sounds far better than the other national shows CBS tries to present on those weekend time slots. He doesn't have that fake, national guy sound and his topics are usually interesting.
