I totally missed this. It should have gotten widespread coverage, especially in sports circles. Definitely one of the sports voices that I grew up with
watching college football. Based on the coverage that these fringe-type celebs get when they pass it is disappointing he isn't getting his just due.

So did I. Can't believe I did, since I think he was just about the best and one of the last regional-sounding guys who wasn't limited in popularity to a single region (or a single sport, though college football was his forte). I wish network college football still had more game-callers like him, rather than the vanilla, corporate people they have now.
