What national broadcasters/announcers/reporters/members of the media have u run into in person?

Did u talk to them at all? Were they dicks, or were they nice?

This is mainly for NATIONAL announcers, NOT local announcers. So Len kasper doesnt count.
But I will make one exception: Hawk Harrelson. If youve met Hawk in person, THAT COUNTS.

Also, out-of-town broadcasters that are not national but local to their teams counts. Example: John Rooney or Mike Shannon of the Cardinals.

I have met Joe Morgan at the airport the morning after a Cubs-Cards Sunday night game. Was surprisingly rude as up to that point I liked him as a broadcaster. Asshole.

Also met Tim Kurkjian during the 2016 World Series. Real nice guy.

Ran into Pedro Gomez after a 2016 World Series game, but he was in a rush, kinda rude and to himself.

Met John Rooney after a Cubs-Cards game. Fun guy to talk to. Can kind of speak my language.

I might be missing 1 or 2 more.

Dennis Miller at the concession stand at tinley park during the 2nd night of The Who/ Black Crowes-Jimmy Page concert. I believe this was the summer before the season started. For having a random drunk kid come up to him and say "go get em with the new gig" he was pretty nice. I didn't waste his time and he was pleasant in his response and we were both on our way after that.

I saw Chris Berman at a baseball game and he was a disgusting sweaty mess...surprised he is still alive.

Speaks whistler language. Does this help or hurt Rooney in the eyes of WSOX?

I've met two media guys on airplanes.

1. Lester Munson, flying Chicago-Albany. He was with his wife, they were going to Saratoga, I was going to a client site. Yes, he was wearing a black dress shirt, and looked like he had been embalmed.
2. Michael Wilbon with his wife, at the time toddler son, and two other women (maybe a sister-in-law and a nanny). We were all on a flight to London in business class (mine was an award), I'm pretty sure they were going to Wimbledon. I only said hello as we were both up in the aisle, because I wasn't in the mood to talk so I figured that he really wasn't in the mood to talk. We all had the pleasure of enduring the 55 minute wait to clear immigration at Heathrow Terminal 3, I was surprised he didn't pull out some kind of fast track credential to jump the line.

Wilbon had his man-purse on him with all the family's passports and other junk. I remembered that look when I was looking for a new briefcase a few years later. There were two RedOxx styles, one was simply double the depth of the second one. I remembered how bad a relatively tall guy like Wilbon looked with a puny bag, and got myself the larger one and never regretted it.

So you're saying the legendary tales of Al Michaels being a douche are accurate?

Bob Uecker after Frank Thomas' debut week in Milwaukee. Saw Frank's 2nd major league hit live. August 4th 1990.

Uecker was drunk and cranky. he quickly signed an autograph and stumbled away with his handler.
