They are fantastic. I'm far more comfortable and productive at the office.

I have ones like the ones up top.. I think I’ll take them to the fields early spring.

I got a pair of these for Christmas. Comfortable and warm but I only wear them out around the house. I can't bring myself to wear them in public. I put them in the pajama pants category.

Back in college, there was a contingent of young ladies who wore their traditional, big, fluffy bath slippers around the dorm, especially in the cafeteria. They had the most annoying habit of shuffling them to make that psst, psst, psst sound whenever they walked. Very irritating.

My buddy, full-time farmer, is rarely NOT in his cargo shorts and "thing-between-the-toes" sandals. When I helped with harvest, I was pleasantly surprised to see work boots. He has gnarly toes/nails to boot. Two weeks in Spring, two in Fall, vacation the other 48!

Neighbor is always in shorts but he at least wears boots 52 weeks a year. You know it’s cold if you see Bob in anything else I did a lot chores 10-15 years ago in shorts until I read about a guy getting an infection from a cow kick that gave him a nasty case of cellulitis. I don’t love jeans/car Hart’s when it’s 95 out but well... it’s part of the uniform.

I ate breakfast at IHOP this morning and happened to be sitting next to a scout from IMU's tribe:

Yeah I see this quite a bit but definitely not at work. My wife ordered some slippers to wear at her place of business' office ( maybe 6 employees ) and I
gave her the old eye roll. Personally I don't own or wear any slippers, flip flops or sandals of any kind. I think there is a policy here at work in
which women aren't supposed to wear open toed shoes but I have never seen anyone enforce it in the 15 years I have been here. There are about 550
people in the building so there really isn't any point anyway. Usually see the slipper kind of footwear at the gas station and grocery store.

I wear my ugg moccasins this time of the year when I’m out running errands. They’ve lasted 10 years and feel like I’m walking on clouds.

Damn right!

And it's not like there are a lot of great breakfast choices between my house and my office. My usual spot is Michoacán at Kedzie and Lawrence, but it opens at 9:00 and I had to get going earlier this morning.

Gotta, get your motor runnin', Nardi. A fifteen mile bike ride followed by a big plate of bistek con rajas y queso gets the day started right. I'm off!

I order chilaquiles once in awhile. They're decent at El Presidente and Doña Chio on Elmdale. I like Casa de Samuel, definitely the best tortillas.

THEY call slippers slides now. You're too old to know this. So was I until I was educated.

Will IMU give Nas the apology he's earned?

I know slides are a thing. But slides are this:

NOT this:

No one calls the item in photo #2 'slides.' Nas says they do.

I'm with IMU on this one. Slippers and slides are two different things. Both inappropriate for the office or air travel.

Even in my very casual office, flip flops and slides would not be allowed unless you changed to go straight to the gym and are leaving in 5 minutes.

Moccasin slippers are just fine and are worn by several guys around here in the winter. You wouldn't wear them to a meeting or when you have clients coming in....but on a day a sales or marketing guy is in the office to handle the daily grind...why the hell not be comfortable?

Except that (somewhat ironically) IHOP's pancakes suck. You'd think that would be hard to screw up. I seriously prefer McDonalds...and they aren't good.

I know this is the wrong board to make this statement, since this place thinks all burgers are identical, but...

Pancakes aren't just pancakes. You can get dense, flavorless pucks at Denny's or you could go to Walker Bros or Little Goat and get some buttery, fluffy heaven cakes.
