The bargain bin shopping hasn't really worked out in a decade.

There was Peavy, I guess, through a trade, but his arm predictably fell off. Manny's young, solid, consistent, I don't see much risk factor.

I expect him to possibly be the best player in Chicago for many many years.

I expect that to be Eloy or Bryant even if we sign Machado

That was good.

It would be like if Jerry kicked you out and then you came back 3 years later when he was selling.

Something isn't right with Bryant and I'm not going crazy over a MLB prospect until they play. I'm saying Machado will be the best.

Yeah, I'm hoping Manny isn't the best player on the roster in a couple years. That's the goal.

I’ve always been with you on prospects but Eloy’s different. Guy will be a monster from day 1 when he comes up.

Will still be a huge fan. But I'm done with the fucking games. One a year. I don't have the money. I haven't seen this team win in five years. So I won't be back until they actually show they care about winning.

Look on the bright side, you got the Illini to bring you joy

Ok, so in about the same time frame, I've seen the Illini win one game (a baseball game). Zero football and basketball wins. Didn't even bother this year.

I don't think the players union will allow him to take a lower offer with the way the last couple of off seasons have gone. He's going to the team with the highest offer.

The agent's statement makes me believe that the Sox are in the lead.

Yup.. brilliant move by Manny's agent( even if the Sox offer is significantly higher) it gets more teams thinking about making an offer.

The longer it drags on the worse it is for the Sox. I was told Manny is going to wait for Harper to sign and set the market. That surprised me because I figured Boras would wait them out till opening day.
